Nice summary of how financialization helped destroy the American middle class. The main take away: we though creating & trading sophisticated financial assets could replace capital investment and human capital attainment. We were wrong. Time for major reforms.

The violent history of segregation and desegregation is a reminder of why safe routes mattered —not just for children— but for adults, too. Contribute your story to this important story. Your story of segregation is history, too.

New, from me:
Trump's 3 step plan to create a military omniforce
1. Purge - those deemed disloyal
2. Merge - different parts of law enforcement/military
3. Surge - impose the omniforce on Dem cities; instigate unrest; assert dominance; silence dissent

Economics must be the main issue in public debates. This article explains why, but does not go far enough in discussing key concepts such as fin mkt reforms & Tobin taxes on large fin transactions.

The best line in this blog is: "To prepare for the future, management education must integrate human-centric principles so that future managers are properly trained for Industry 5.0" Very true. Yet the teaching of economics (especially b-schools) is horribly outdated when in comes to Industry 5.0.

I am so glad @ironstache.bsky.social is running for Congress in the Wisconsin 1st Congressional District. Not only does he understand that problems our country (and our world faces) he has solutions! And he has a cutting sense of humor.
When I make a mistake, I own up to it. I had to issue this correction to the press just now.

For my American friends: the Daily Mail is a British newspaper with a very conservative slant (to put it nicely). So when even the strongest backers of the Conservative Party in the UK call out a Republican American POTUS, you know we are in very deep trouble.

Nervous Musk, Trump, Vance have all been outclassed in public arguments these last few days. Government failure, stock market crash, and dictatorial alliances are not popular. People are starting to realize that there is no truth here beyond the desire for personal wealth and power. (2/2)

Understand this: by trying to kill the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Elon Musk and Russ Vought are trying to make it easier for big banks to cheat you.

It’s another way the Trump administration wants to reward the rich and powerful while hurting working people.

There is so much we can learn from our allies, if only we would be grownup enough to listen. Here is yet another great example from Canada.

This offers a great comparison btw the economic policies of FDR and Biden. FDR’s focus on: relief, recovery, & reform were transformative. Biden could only deliver relief. Time to learn from FDR to address the needs economic needs of working Americans.

Well, isn't this interesting? Remember hearing about how big corporations "had no choice" but to keep jacking up prices due to "increased costs." Hold onto your MAGA hat - it might have been...well...a bit of a falsehood. Now McDonalds found it CAN cut prices! www.thestreet.com/restaurants/...
