I just finished reading The Switch by Sandra Brown. This book has done immense psychic and spiritual damage to me, in a way rarely replicated in books where inflicting psychic and spiritual damage is the actual goal.
This damage is just incidental, which makes it even more deeply wounding.

You can actually drop the mana load on your Fireballs by a whole Tier if you remove all the safeteys and self defense limiters.
