Everyone is grabbing torches and pitchforks to yell at the group of five teams in defense of a Norte Dame team who beat fucking no one and Texas who lost to a team coach by goddamn Billy Napier. All of the noise around this has been extremely stupid.
Disappointing to here Joe Tess rattling off anti-G5 talking points from the booth here. This game has sucked and the JMU-Oregon game will be a slaughter, but the point is the rest of the season. You either drastically trim whose season "matters" or you acknowledge the Playoff is a source of meaning

Someone pointed out Whittingham is only two years older than Cignetti. I probably shouldn’t get my hopes up because I don’t think it’s gonna be him but at this point he seems like the very obvious choice.. He just won double digit games. The floor for him is gonna be incredibly high.

Michigan has to call Cignetti, Lanning and Freeman and make all three of them say no (which probably all three do.) If all three say no, this is probably the list they’re looking at.

Whittingham now has the second best odds to land the Michigan job. That’s pretty interesting. I don’t hate it. I think Dillingham & Lea should clearly be prioritized over him but I think Whittingham is a better coach than Drinkwitz & I don’t think the age factor should make them hire Drink over him
