Yes, we know Illinois and Maryland are Dem gerrymanders. And WI, PA, NC, OH, FL, TX, UT are Republican gerrymanders. The Democrats support a nationwide ban on gerrymanders. Do any Republicans?

Trump to UAE president: "We have a term 'groceries.' It's an old term but it means basically what you're buying, food, it's a pretty accurate term but it's an old fashioned sound but groceries are down."

As far as I can tell, the Democrats are experts at appealing to the middle. The party needs to expand to the left, not the right. I doubt we'll lose "the middle" by advocating for a public health option or supporting the LGBTQ+ community. If you want to be a republican, go be a republican.

Some of us have been saying this since 2020 and even before: Dems should make corruption *the* central issue in US politics and public life and go on the offensive against GOP/MAGA/Trump transparent and hypocritical corruption and grifting. Most voters hate corruption.

Far from trying to distract, he’s seeking to draw attention to the fact that, in his own (deranged, psychotic) mind, he answers to no one else—and, as he said earlier this week, cannot “violate any Law.”

We disregard his words at our Constitution’s peril.
Dear media:

Please do not waste time hyperventilating about this dumb comment.

It’s intended to be a distraction from all of the damaging actions he’s taking.

Focus on those.

DOGE recommended firing workers at:

-FDA, which oversees Neuralink

-FAA, which oversees SpaceX

-USAID, which probed Starlink

-CFPB, which oversees Tesla's financing arm and a potential payment platform on X.

"Conflict of interest" is a severe understatement.

Certainly doesn’t look to me as though the end goal is cutting government spending… They’re looking to reroute $$$ to the oligarchs.

Firstly, by funneling our tax dollars into tax cuts for the oligarchs.

Secondly, by creating government contracts for the oligarchs by privatizing our services.
Despite DOGE, Trump's agenda calls for adding trillions of dollars to U.S. debt
Budget experts say Trump’s tax and spending priorities would increase red ink, even as he boasts of balancing the budget. “I don’t think their rhetoric matches reality," one says.

The weather service has dialed back - again - the rain forecast for areas west of the mountains in San Diego County. Still, Wednesday should be the first time in 317 days San Diego has recorded more than a meager 0.17 of an inch of rain in a day. The last time: March 31, 2024. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

The border2fire in San Diego is much too close for comfort. Why hasn't the Sweetwater District closed any schools? These kids are going to be choking on smoke. One high school is under an evacuation watch. Close the schools!

I could really use a gloomy, rainy weekend day where I have nothing to do but sit on the couch with a glass of wine and a blanket and watch movies all day. A lot.
Rain is looking increasingly likely this weekend in San Diego County. It could start Saturday & linger to Tuesday, but the best chances are on Sunday. There's also a chance of t-storms, which could be a problem up north. High rainfall rates could cause mudslides in fire zones. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

San Diego recorded 0.01 of an inch of rain in December. Only 4 Decembers in city history, since 1850, got less. January, with no rain at all so far, is even more bleak, & the forecast is dry for the next 10 days. The city's driest Januaries: 1850, 1859, 0; 1948, 1976, a trace. #sandiegoweather #CAwx
