We're spending $20B to bail out Argentina, but they cut USAID down to the bone, causing deaths around the world. The entire budget of USAID, the whole agency, was $21B last year. Shameful.

The Trump administration confirmed that the U.S. bailed out Argentina.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said he had directly bought Argentine pesos in global currency markets in a bid to relieve pressure on the nation’s embattled President Javier Milei, a supporter of President Trump.

This is a great example of local actions that both reduce carbon pollution (climate mitigation by enabling carbon free active transportation) and also increase the resilience to climate impacts (climate adaptation by designing systems to handle increased amounts of rainfall due to climate change).

They aren’t just flower beds!!!

Fascinating peak beneath the surface of one of London’s new Cycleways - you can see the complex drainage system that ensures bike lanes help protect the capital from heavy rain & the effects of climate change.

And don’t they look great when they’re finished? 💚🚲👍

We are reauthorizing our state's cap and invest program!! This is awesome! And we also passed a bill to legalize housing near transit stops! Despite all the terrible things going on, there are still some good things here in CA. :D

Oh great stormfront-level gutter racism from a sitting US senator. Remember when we had a media that would’ve crucified him for this? Now we get at best an indifferent shrug

man. if Eric Schmitt's speech to NatCon isn't a sign of the times, i don't know what is
"America is not a 'universal nation.' ... [American] principles are not abstractions. They are living, breathing things — rooted in a people and embodied in a way of life."

Senator Eric Schmitt got a standing ovation at Nat Con DC for saying America as a nation is the property of a distinct ethnic people.

Americans are a mix of “the most adventurous, the most courageous, the most curious and innovative” of the English, Scotch-Irish, and continental Europeans, who came as settlers and have spent hundreds of years building, fighting, and dying for "a homeland for themselves and their descendants."

"We’re a nation of settlers, explorers, and pioneers — born on the ocean waters that carried the first ships to our shores and forged in the crucible of a wild frontier. Our people tamed a continent, built a civilization from the wilderness, and wrote our nation’s name in history.

"Our ancestors were driven here by destiny, possessed by urgent and fiery conviction, by burning belief, devoted to their cause and their God."

"The Continental Army soldiers dying of frostbite at Valley Forge, Pilgrims struggling to survive in the hard winter soil of Plymouth, pioneers striking out from Missouri for the wild and dangerous frontier, [and] outnumbered Kentucky settlers, repelling wave after wave of Indian war band attacks from behind their stockade walls, would be astonished to hear that they were only fighting for a 'proposition.'

"They believed they were forging a nation — a homeland for themselves and their descendants."

"America, in all its glory, is their gift to us, handed down across the generations.

"It belongs to us. It’s our birthright, our heritage, our destiny.

"If America is everything and everyone, then it is nothing and no one at all."

It’s pretty simple:

- AI is driving electricity demand up

- The Trump Administration is restricting new electricity supply from being built

- When demand goes up and supply goes down, you pay more for electricity.

AMAZING NEWS! A judge has ruled that the Everglades Interment Camp must halt operations. They cannot receive new immigrants (thank GOD), and must tear down fencing and other aspects within 60 days. Essentially making it inoperable.

Angus King is doing the right thing! All senators and representatives should do this. We should not send one more cent to IDF as long as they continue genocide.

The Trump Admin wants to talk about waste, fraud, and abuse?

Then let's talk about their decision to incinerate 500 tons of food that should have been sent to those who need it.

$800,000 of our taxpayer dollars to purchase the food and another $130,000 to burn it all.

Interesting article on the need to shift from car-dependent to transit-oriented development, drawing on lessons from previous interventions.

Key issue: “Transit investment is often absent or delayed until after development occurs, which weakens sustainability and reinforces car dependency”

Urban development in most Global North countries is largely car dependent, enabled and facilitated by mass car ownership, cheap oil and weak planning …

“It’s ultimately a matter of survival.”

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.
