Oof, pelvic floor therapy was on my “to try” list while figuring out my MCAS pain; I put it off over and over for other possible treatments because I knew it would be such a squicky experience OTL

I’m sorry you gotta go through that PT but also proud of you for doing so 💪✨!! I hope it goes well ❤️‍🩹

Coming Soon!
My husband and I take on The Horror Zine's list of do's and don't's. When your submission guidelines disallow genre staples like slashers, gore, and religious or political themes, we're left wondering: what's left in Horror to write about?
A faux-instagram style post that proclaims: New Video, Roselin Rants: The Horror Zine. A thumbnail for a video is displayed with large text over a pale purple background with Halloween designs like bats and skulls, reading "The Horror Zine That Doesn't Allow Horror". Below, the faux-caption text reads: @RoselinBooksOfficial; Subscribe to join the Rose Garden~ Supporters have access to early and exclusive content! #booktube #booktok #writertok #authortube #reading #bookreviews #tbr #wip

Idk who needs to hear this right now but I’m telling you: publishing is full of rejection and people who will not understand you, and when you are passed up for opportunities I want you to remember that it has nothing to do with your talent or the sheer amount of heart you’ve poured in.

MAN I gotta learn how to cross stitch so I can get that quote on a pillow!! Plus several hats and shirts and banners.

I’ll never understand how people can so confidently anoint themselves the king of “good moral art” as The Most Valid Oppressed Person Ever. It’s horrific.
natalielinn.bsky.social
OOOOO, I’m so excited for this one!! Thank you sm for all your work arming us against the endless barrage of bullshit.
natalielinn.bsky.social
If there's no way to make bully-proof art, you might as well make whatever you want and build community with the people who support the same thing. We're safer together as a coalition. Don't do these people's work for them by censoring and isolating yourself in advance.
natalielinn.bsky.social
(This is how you get South Park fans who are also antis. There is no external metric at play here to separate "good" from "bad" art—only these people's personal comfort levels, and whether they can convince other people their discomfort is a punishable offense.)
natalielinn.bsky.social
Antis pretend to operate under a set of hard "common sense" standards. In reality they pick their targets based on vibes—whether they like you personally, and how your art makes them feel—then work backwards to justify their cruelty, leveraging "paranoid reading" as a cudgel.

But in a surveillance state that twists progressive language to justify the ostracization of marginalized people, there is no "safe" way to make art. The softest most platonic cottagecore morality tale will not save you from a traumatized young adult desperate for a sense of control & superiority.
natalielinn.bsky.social
I won't tell you these hate campaigns "aren't that bad." It took me a long time to admit I was traumatized by my ordeal. This was never as simple as "go touch grass" when we all depend on socmed for community and career opportunities. It feels unfair of me to ask you to "make art anyway."
natalielinn.bsky.social
PLEASE make art anyway. I've been dogpiled twice (first for defending adult fiction and then over representation) so I know from personal experience that SO MANY creatives have survived this exact maelstrom, and that their arms are open and ready to catch you on the other side.

I've already seen folks talking about how they have projects they want to work on but are scared of being treated the way Rebecca Sugar and Dana Terrace have been treated. And that really, REALLY sucks.

Formal post soon, but for the first time in eight (!) years, I'm open for illustration & short comics work! I'd love to do more TTRPG equipment & character designs/ illos; book covers; & book interiors. I also love making short comics & would love to be a part of more anthologies! www.careydraws.com

Nice to meet ya! I'm a colored pencil comic artist; my first graphic novel ("Bunnybirds," a middle grade fantasy adventure about flying rabbits) came out last year via Holiday House. Thanks for your time! 🐇

Building Healthier Social Media: Updated Guidelines and New Features - Bluesky
Public discourse on social media has grown toxic and divisive, but unlike other platforms, Bluesky is building a social web that empowers people instead of exploiting them.

Arrrggg, pardon the wall of text. You can tell I'm more fed up than usual with such dangerous puritanical nonsense. SAVE ME FROM THIS CLOWN HELL, CLAIRE
natalielinn.bsky.social
And of course the right will weaponize this report feature against marginalized artists. Pick a target → find their horny art (or anything remotely adjacent) → slander the target as a child predator → cut them off from social media (and kneecap their ability to network/market themselves). Classic!
