(44) Open a high-yield savings account and set up direct deposit to put a few bucks into it with each paycheck. Doesn't have to be a ton, but obviously the more the better. You'll be glad it's there when you need it.

John is absolutely right. I'm an uncle to four children, ages 4-17, and if I got judgmental about the things they enjoy, I'd only succeed at alienating them.

As you get older, try to keep an open mind for what younger people enjoy, and engage with it how you can. This is easier the more you do. You'll enjoy a wider band of stuff, younger people who need you will find you more approachable, and you won't turn into a "in my day" grump.
