semi-regular reminder that ICE was only created in 2003

when you are asked to imagine a world without ICE, you're basically being asked to remember where you were when Lilo & Stitch came out

If you are anxious and sad about the state of the world, that's fine, and there are plenty of strategies for dealing with that. But I think you already know that drive-by online dooming isn't a strategy. It's selfish and adolescent. It's a contagion that only spreads the worst of you, not the best.

Any advice Tom has on making indie games is worth listening to, but I really want to highlight his thoughts on price point - it's well explained.

I do think that the movement to get indies to charge more mostly just hurt new indies - with fewer players, fewer/worse reviews, and lower sales.

💵 MONEY for GAME? In 2026??? 💵

There have been more and more successful-game-devs-turned-game-funders popping up, so here's a lil' thread of some of the more recent ones I've seen.

Hopefully this helps you get some $$$! 🔽

My end-of-year Hidden Gems list is up on PC Gamer! They asked me for 15. I did 30. Somehow, Weird Little Guys and The Apocalypse were a theme.

2025 was terrible in every other regard, but the games? Good.

I also just updated my Steam Curator Page with all the stuff in the feature and a few others.
30 hidden gems from 2025 to grab before the Steam Winter Sale ends

Were 90s kids clamoring for a Batman cartoon with 1930s Art Deco aesthetics? Is that what the market demanded? Or did some really smart creative people have a vision and make a genre-defining hit that sustained 20 years of TV shows? If you want success look for vision, not just metrics.

When the Legendary Edition came out a few years ago I played through the whole series again - including playing the Citadel DLC for the first time. Absolutely wonderful experience. If you’re waiting on more Mass Effect, it’s still there.

Ahahaha my time has come!!! Let's do this!!!

I'm a bit pressed for time rn, so I'll probably do a couple now, and the rest over the weekend (G-d willing).

A lot of puzzle / thinky games, narrative-focused, queer stuff will follow (not every game is all of these, but some definitely are!)

I don't know that I can do 50 but I for sure can come up with 30 to 40 games from this year that you should check out. A lot of these are student games, and most of them are short and free and experimental. Hit me up if you've got one I should add to the list.
This has been a long week but I will make a list of 50 indie games that are:

From this awards voting year (Nov 2024 - Nov 2025)
Not covered by the awards show
