As you’re preparing for your Thanksgiving meal, remember the skilled work it took to get that food to your grocery store.

Tell us your favorite Thanksgiving dish, and we can share some of what we know about the work behind the ingredients.

Today, as I watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, I am thankful for my life, for family, friends, pets, & hobbies. Also very thankful for my job; the benefits have been helpful.

The parade started with Cynthia Erivo singing a favorite song of mine, Feeling Good.

Because of a big scary health issue for me, I won't be riding my horse until the Spring. This will be giving me more time during the week and, I suspect that my house will end up being much cleaner. I am already tackling stuff; I do need to keep doing slow and steady movement (walking).

I have said before and will say again that it is such a loss that we no longer get covers of this caliber for fantasy books.

This art is by Jean-Léon Huens. These covers are for the Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander. They lit my imagination on fire as a kid.

The fact that the people who share your name & DNA or who happened to attend the same church you did growing up don't understand who you are, what's important to you, or what you need, can be painful.

And, it has exactly zero to do w/ your worth, value-- or future.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

I do not drink because I have almost no tolerance for it anymore (one margarita is too much).

If you are hosting a party, I recommend also stocking:
-fancy ginger beer
-coconut water
-premium juices like lychee and guava
-apple cider with cinnamon
-Italian sodas
-sparkling water

Lots of options!

Late post for #HATM. Someone else shared the obit, but this quote seems very on point for the ice cream incident in tonight’s film.
In memos later made public, the F.B.I. director, J. Edgar Hoover, ordered his agents to begin arresting Mr. Al-Amin and other S.N.C.C. leaders “on every possible charge until they could no longer make bail.”

Let's talk about books and the public trust.

Something that is easy to forget, in these days of barcode-scanning / auto-adjust pricing on third-party platforms for pennies plus shipping:

Booksellers are not merely people who sell some popular books in a competitive market.

I’ve voted 7 times to reopen the government in a way that holds Trump accountable for his lawlessness and prevents a health care crisis.

I’m prepared to work toward a compromise, but this “deal” before us does not come close to meeting those terms. Voting NO.
