Last weekend I foolishly *didn't* buy the copies of William Golding's THE INHERITORS and THE SPIRE when I saw them in the Amnesty Bookshop. Now anxiously awaiting a response to the email I sent them late last night asking if they're still there and can be held until I'm back in town this Sunday.

#FilmSky John Boorman's LEO THE LAST is on Prime in the UK. It's not a great print, and it's pan and scan, but given that it's not an easy film to see otherwise it's a big deal. Even like this it's an extraordinary looking film. Arguably Boorman's most outre and experimental movie.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 13:
Publishing is too often risk-averse and anxious. But the very best writing takes *all* the risks, and carries the readers along with it...

Hoar Frost

Forms when the air is still and cold, usually on clear winter nights. Water vapour in the air condenses on solid surfaces, and as the surface temperature drops below 0°C, ice crystals form.

Brian Simpson.
I remember when there was a discussion on Twitter about Shein's manufacturing practices and some apologists invented all sorts of fantastical machinery and technology to avoid facing the more horrifying truth. Reminds me of this comedian's joke.

People posting about Spielberg's "Untitled UFO movie" and I keep thinking he's making something about that Chubby Brown film ... Which would be quite the career move.
