Please read our paper out now about the resistance, repurposing and reimagining of oppressive mental health technologies, such as Oxevision (now LIO), used on us against our will. And how we must dream them differently.
Our paper - ‘Towards a Mad Technoscience: revealing, repurposing, and reimagining carceral mental health technologies’ is out now (limited access here) bristoluniversitypressdigital.com/view/journal...

People went on the bad advice of friends, family members etc now, the deterioration of community means ppl are seeking advice from AI. A program that tells ppl exactly what they want to hear. An agreeable agent which doesn't challenge behaviour.

“Oxevision is not licensed to replace staff, but the trust still notes in its report that this is what they’re using the technology for, estimating that between 2021 and 2024, it should save £709k on staffing with Oxevision.”

“The business case for using Oxevision appears equally unclear in the OHFT report, which reveals a conflict between the trust and the company over whether to explicitly say that the surveillance tech is being used to replace staff.”

Once, a male ward staff member stood and watched me through a window as I showered during an admission in 2005, it haunts me to this day. If a camera had been recording so any male staff member could look at me 24/7 without me knowing, my psychosis would've escalated.
@stopoxevision.bsky.social have a template letter and a bunch of easy read resources to explain why this tech doesn't help staff care for patients, it doesn't work in the ways Lio claim it does and it does violate patient rights to privacy and dignity.

Can we all collectively acknowledge that storage heaters are garbage and burn them in a pyre after fitting proper central heating in their place?

My flat was 14 degrees despite the storage heaters being on all night.

Colder elsewhere as I have no working heating at all in my kitchen or bathroom.
