📜 SIGN A CONTRACT with a genAI clause that entitles you to financial compensation if AI is used in the creation of the images. Grifters will disappear before signing it.

I keep seeing authors getting duped by AI users pretending to be artists (and then sadly realising it when everyone calls their book AI slop).

These grifters are everywhere and I don't have a solution, but I have a few pointers:

The correct answer to this is "Yes, and everyone else too."
Should artists get a basic income like they do in Ireland?
Could the government pay salaries to musicians and artists - no strings attached like they do in Ireland?

AI doesn't "learn" like a human, it makes copies of books, art, music, and videos. Which could be a big problem for Silicon Valley. My latest investigation for the The Atlantic presents research that the AI industry has been trying to keep hidden. www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...
AI’s Memorization Crisis
Large language models don’t “learn”—they copy. And that could change everything for the tech industry.

I think the experience of being a millenial or younger, is that every time you find your footing, and think you’re finally doing well, everything (housing, healthcare, economy, world stability etc) gets infinitely harder, worse and out of reach.

This is what I get for looking at SF home prices. 💀

San Diego Comic-Con will no longer allow AI 'art' to be displayed at their event

"Material created by AI either partially or wholly, is not allowed in the art show"

This follows backlash from artists after SDCC initially indicated AI-generated work would be permitted

You can’t “fix” X, The Everything App by going back and posting there because the owner has this thumb on the scale of the algorithm to promote the worst ideas and people. It’s not a viable solution, you have to let it go.

Sehr lesenswerter Beitrag darüber, wie künstliche Intelligenz Bildung entwertet, kritisches Denken und studentisches Lernen verhindert, Universitäten von innen zersetzt und die Gesellschaft nach und nach verblödet:

AI is Destroying the University and Learning Itself
Students use AI to write papers, professors use AI to grade them, degrees become meaningless, and tech companies make fortunes. Welcome to the death of higher education.

🚨 Yet again Ted Cruz and Steve Scalise are trying to sneak in a moratorium on state GenAi legislation.

If passed states can no longer enact laws for transparency, child safety, privacy, environmental protection etc.

We got 3 days to stop this. Call now!
