Playable Vergil in Devil May Cry isn't nearly as silly because he rarely loses his cool and the combat scenarios are very much within his wheelhouse, so failure is on the player. Silksong makes it clear that Hornet is having an Especially Bad Day and that she's just as frustrated as the player.

I think why I'm still sticking with Silksong even after some really obnoxious difficulty is that there's something inherently funny about taking this cold effortless virtuoso character from the first game and putting them in a situation that makes them go "Ow! Dammit! Ugh! Stop it! Why?! Unfair!"

it's not just that we rejected smart glasses 5-10 years ago, it's that the last attempt to inject them into our lives by google made this obvious: attaching a recording device to your body without the specific context of like skateboarding or motocross or w/e enables pvp globally

Fred Flentstone stands, hands on his hips, looking incredulously at Barney Rubble, who is at the corner of the panel barely visible. He appears to wearing tiny sunglasses.
"C'mon Barn, what's with the getup? and what is that on your head?" Fred asks.

We now see Barney is also wearing a black trench coat and smoking a cigarette. A small bird is taped to the side of his head. "Just the latest in cybernetic enhancement technology- wired right into my brain."
