on iOS26, I think that a 2016-era webkit bug related to filters and clipping is being invoked here: Liquid Glass might be using a filter, and therefore the virtual viewport winds up cropping the fixed elements?

this link is kinda whatever but it reminds me… @redlamp.org, you must have a screenshot of our art school web project?… but anyway, it was a PHP proxy that modified yahoo dot com to carry information about the Dada Art movement, including turning all of the ad banner space into a gallery

Seems bad that SFUSD is slipping in a contract with OpenAI for a whopping 12,000 end users with a REDACTED price tag, way out at the end of the meeting between requests for field trips and heater upgrades… 🤔🤔

I had a use case for anchor positioning where it wasn't going to work (across container boundaries) so… I asked Opus 4.5 to write me a thing that would let me interactively select elements on the page, and then a set of CSS variables and data-attributes to encode that in the DOM & a tiny JS to sync

This isn't mine, and I can't definitively find the original source. But I love this little bit of wisdom:

"If you're a fifteen-minute walk from a coffee shop, but the server there has to drive an hour to get to work, you don't live in a walkable city. You live in a theme park."
For all the fearmongering about capital flight from New York City, there’s an exodus few want to talk about: working people.

Sky-high rents and outrageous child care costs are already pushing families out of the city they keep running.

That’s what we have to change.

I’m going to be honest, the single best advice I would give people starting out in their career, the thing that probably helped me the most in my life, was simply to show up for things if you had the time.

Some foundational experiences in my career occurred just because I went to advertised events.

A reminder — there are *millions* of social sites on the internet, like Storygraph for your reading and Ravelry for your knitting, etc. It’s only the biggest, run by the extremist fascists, that do these terrible things. Don’t define the internet by a handful of apps run by 5 sociopaths.
