things that are easier to do when you have the place all to yourself… read books. listen to classical music on the good speakers uninterrupted. and for some reason- clean the bathroom down to the grout.

The GOP is once again showing its disdain for the Constitution.

‘Residential protesting’ could be a crime in Minnesota under new GOP proposal
A bill that’s backed by a coalition of GOP lawmakers set to be proposed at the start of the upcoming session would make “residential protesting" punishable under Minnesota law.

Wild how Noahidea & Dick Handy are huge fans of @scottwiener.bsky.social and likely see Wiener's reluctant acknowledgement of the Gaza genocide and his tepid statements on the educator strike as either weakness or lies.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Very interesting! Would explain why all he can do about every public school being closed due to a strike is demand “both sides get back to the table”. He’s a thought and prayers type of mayor.
I think it’s important that folks know before he was mayor, Daniel Lurie courted large donations from tech CEO’s for programs to undercut public education.

Like this “innovative” solution to preschool where poor kids were shoved onto a bus in the parking lot of an Oakland charter school.

I was shown these about 5 seconds after opening my eyes this morning. In fact, my wife might have started describing them while I was technically asleep.

SFUSD teachers still on strike! Bringing breakfast to striking teachers at my neighborhood school was the easiest & most heartwarming thing I've done in ages.

Meredith has an op-ed in the Chronicle today. She opines that we are simply doing CTA's bidding, mischaracterizes the current state of negotiations, and proposes no more strikes because they're hard "parents like me" (...rich people who don't like their children?)

@violintuner.bsky.social found the Open AI contract burying in the consent calendar of the draft agenda- and discovered the redacted price and retroactive date. Pretty shady of Maria to claim that this was free. 🤔
@jerquecousteau.bsky.social found the SBUSD contract that the SFUSD one referenced. The cost was probably around $228 a license (2.7m), but we pay $324 a license for Gemini so it could've been more! SFUSD remains remarkably spendthrift with everything but the people who do the work!
