The Land Of Rape And Honey, our third studio album was released October 11, 1988 on Sire Records. The album peaked at 164 on Billboard 200 and certified Gold by the RIAA. “Stigmata” was the single. Videos were made for “Stigmata” and “Flashback.”

Autechre’s set last night was definitely the best out of the three times I’ve seen them, first in 08 for Quaristice and then in 15. You can tell they’ve been gigging heavily for the last 3 years. This was just straight up crowd-pleasing IDM, of an energy level that isn‘t on their records. Amazing.

the thing about asking for a worker owned anything on the web is that the pitch has to account for the fact that the website is going to - innately - be slower to add features, slower to respond to issues, have financial struggles, etc

I came here after Cohost died. It was the closest to what people want that can be realistically achieved by Not A Massive Corporation. It kinda sucked. It was basically LJ/Tumblr. Sorry, these things are way less sexy when you don’t have crazy Web 2.0 cloud infra. You have to accept less sexy.

this was called Cohost—not enough people used it or spent money on it relative to the amount of money it cost to (1) pay its 4 employees a living wage for their labor; and (2) keep the site running, so it died, nothing like it has taken its place at the scale it existed, and now we're here

Barack Obama’s failure is the direct instigator of Bernie Sanders’ rise to fame. Millennials learned from 08-16 that rhetoric & charisma matters way less than meaningful policy positions & a willingness to fight the status quo. The Dems have come up with increasingly forceful ways to say no since.

My favorite moment in “Carved” at Descanso Gardens was probably the lowest-key one. The spooky synth arpeggio, the thick fog and the gently flickering, highly detailed centerpiece fixtures in the “Mulberry Pond” had off-the-charts vibes.
