A lot of centrist pundits like to point out (not wrongly in my opinion) how many races the GOP blew because they forwent moderate candidates but as far as I know it was only Mandela Barnes has cost us a race that maybe Ron Kind could have won if he ran.
I can accept that a more moderate candidate would have won, but Aftyn “I am a radical” Behn swinging the Tennessee shitlerburbs 13 pts left is a 6 alarm fire for the GOP regardless so why we crying

Yeah we should give @primaryschool.bsky.social orbital strike capability because fuck this
It turns out that Dollar General and Family Dollar routinely overcharge people—their advertised price tags are fictions. These are the only stores in many small towns.

Scam culture. It's all scam culture. On this matter, Democrats should run on audits and serious fines for overcharging.
How the dollar-store industry overcharges cash-strapped customers while promising low prices
A Guardian investigation reveals Dollar General and Family Dollar stores often fail to honor their shelf prices – charging more at checkout for everything from frying pans to Frosted Flakes

@jamellebouie.net should run for VA-6 if they do this map only because I want to see how long it takes before he calls one of his peers a dumb ass on the Congressional record
Democrats can retaliate against these GOP gerrymanders with new maps in Illinois, Maryland, Oregon, & Virginia.

They could flip 7 GOP seats to make up for this & new GOP maps in Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, & possibly soon Indiana.

Imposing costs is the only way to deter the GOP from doing this

Does he do a bad vote once in a while? Yes. Does it piss me off? Most definitely.

But its stuff like this that shows why Andy Kim is the guy who broke the machines and thats why I love him
Politicians and their billionaire buddies are making millions while your family struggles to pay for healthcare and groceries.

I call it the “Corruption Tax.”

NGL, Letitia James might be one of the first people to jump from State AG to presidential candidate because of all this nonsense
ABC News and MS NOW reports that a Virginia grand jury has refused to re-indict Letitia James on mortgage fraud charges

So is Cuéllar about to switch parties or is this another Crimes Caucus solidarity move?

Actually this does beg the question: does the GOP recover some face if Vance ascends in the wake of Trump’s timely descent or does President J.D. Vance wig the public out so much they are put into a worse position?
he could ***
a thing to ask yourself re: the GOP's electoral position is what could happen over the next year that could *improve* its position? and what could trump do, plausibly, that might *boost* his numbers with the public?

Ok so we’re gonna see a mass exodus of Republican reps by the end of the month right? This is horrific especially for Nashville shitlerburbs

But, we did wake up to the news that 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘵𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘤 is still out there publishing entire magazines every month. There's a new one this week. Its cover image is really something.

Funniest part is that the Mayor of Randolph was making a big stink about how he was running for NJ-11 in 2026 because there would be no special then Mikie won his town anyway. Like get fucked
The 2025 NJ Governor Election, a contest between NJ-11 Rep Mikie Sherrill, & 2021 runner up. Frm assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli saw Dems hold the governorship for the third consecutive contest in their third best Dem performance for an NJ Gov Race since the 1973 Watergate landslide

NJ people feel free to tap in but here’s my ratings for the big 3 NJ House primaries:

With BWC retiring, Pallone will become the oldest member of the NJ delegation (turning 75 in December 2026). Assuming he also retires (unlikely), the oldest rep would be…freshman Nellie Pou (turning 70 May 2026)

For those sad the NJ election is over don’t fret we’re not fine: Mikie Sherrill’s NJ11 will be having a special election once she resigns!

Orange County New York: looks like Dems made massive gains in the county legislature, going from 14-6-1 to 11-10! Steve Neuhaus (R) wins reelection.

Fun fact if Dems do this Oregon and New Mexico would be the only two states Outside New England which full Dem delegations
Oregon is one of the few states where Democrats could redraw their congressional map in 2026 in response to the GOP's nationwide gerrymandering effort.

Kamala Harris won every seat on this hypothetical map by double digits, & Dems would likely flip district 2 davesredistricting.org/join/24923d9...
