Same. And even then actual ringing and tones are a no-go for me, and its vibrations because the sounds (no matter the ringtones or notification tones) just make me have serious flashbacks to some bad times
I turn of all notifications for literally every damn app. My phone only rings out loud if it's someone who's in my phone book and it only beeps at me if I set an alarm or a loved one is texting.
This is a good thread to read. I will only add that I do not get ANY social-media notifications or news alerts on my phone and it is a foundational building block of my sanity that no nonhuman entity, not even Bluesky, gets to initiate conversations with me.

The Patriot Act, and all similar measures, were were what made me sit up and start getting involved in politics and voicing my opinions - but I was young and youth felt like it meant very little in politics at the time. It never stopped me, but it took me a long time to find any like-minded people
You know, many of us said the post 9/11 War on Terror measures were Orwellian bullshit at the time, from DHS to ICE. The Patriot Act was chilling as well.
Some of us objected vociferously. Perhaps we didn't have the mics or the power, but we remember 2001-2005 as a terrible time in this country.
