Not just that - One person stuck on 720541 with me was in a wheelchair

I can confirm that my diversionary route was NOT wheelchair accessible (pavement too thin in certain sections)

A signal failure just on the western side of Shenfield has suspended service from Gidea Park to Shenfield, affecting all GEML services and the Elizabeth line.

Made it onto the Elizabeth Line - 9Y71 (08:10 Romford)

I predicted that the 498 would arrive slightly early due to a lack of traffic on a Saturday morning, and it did. So I've nabbed this to Stratford (08:31) and that'll basically be the disruption divert over for me.

It's now 08:00 and I'm checking back on Twitter - staff advised waiting at Shenfield for the next Southend train then c2c back into London.

Had I done this, I'd still be at Shenfield - Quite bad in a time critical situation and I'd have wasted a whole hour doing nothing!

Luckily, with 20 minutes to spare, I managed to run to its first valid stop - The Police Station.

Got on the 498 and committee to Romford as I have the option of Overground there too.

By outrunning Google Maps (I was 3x the speed of Google Maps!!), I managed to make it to Brentwood High Street, but then I realised the road was closed and the 498 was on diversion!

From Shenfield, the railway was shut on all lines to Gidea Park. Nothing can run there, but I was plotting something on the train.

I'd run from Shenfield to Brentwood and get the 498 bus into Romford or Gidea Park.

So 1P01 was canned at Colchester, and I was watching signalmaps carefully. I managed to bag 720541 as 9F01, a special shuttle from Colchester to Shenfield, getting in at 06:58.
