Sadly, much damage to the NIH and the US has already been done. But at least now there's hope that soon we can start to move on and recover from the disease of DOGE

Again, this is an aspirational document. I assume (and hope) and we need to make sure that Congress treats it with all of the respect it deserves...

More from the Washington Post (and this one is a doozy) regarding the President's Budget. Note that this is an aspirational document and Congress has to act (or ignore it).

The Trump administration’s remaking of HHS — in a matter of weeks — is sparking basic questions about how parts of the agency and those it oversees can continue to function.

DOGE-induced delays in trials at the NIH Clinical Center

(Dr. Steve) Rosenberg said. “Right now, assuming things don’t get any worse, it would be a month [delay]. These are not patients that have very many months left.”

This seemed inevitable but is still a big deal...

NIH scientists have a cancer breakthrough. Layoffs are delaying it.
A big step forward in cancer therapy has been slowed by layoffs and new restrictions at the National Institutes of Health, where it was developed.

This is a win for science, public health, and the rule of law.
A judge just blocked Trump's NIH funding cuts while my office's lawsuit against this administration continues.

Now, we're going to keep fighting these harmful, illegal cuts that slow down lifesaving medical research, hurt our economy, and take away jobs.
