I did the books as well... and GOOD GRIEF that was a ride! And not often a good ride.

The TV show is better. I don't know if it gets worse as much as never gets less the same and wears thin pretty fast.

I know they do. That's why I'm going insane right now. Because that's Illumination animation and character design and that's so obviously Baby Rosalina DAYS after the next film is confirmed to be based on Galaxy.

Rosalina HAS a backstory. So much so, the devs fought Miyamoto in hand-to-hand combat to get it into Mario Galaxy. True story.

That album would be full of catchy bangers if someone had the mind to trim the production costs by 60% and had the nerve to cut each song short by around half.
