Hello new followers. I'm a middle-aged man who occasionally finds time to play videogames in between parenting, work and exhaustion.

Thanks for joining me.

I have possibly the most annoying insect infestation ever. It's very small, slow flies that buzz around near my face and land on my desk. There is no obvious entry point or source of them. They are not difficult to dispatch. BUT they inexplicably appear one at a time over and over all evening.

In Clu Clu Land on NES, if you successfully uncover every gem in the bonus stage, you get a 3,000 point bonus. But due to a programming error, you only get 30 points added to your score.

The English language manual even acknowledges the bug. But it wasn't fixed until the Virtual Console release.
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

NES era Link and Samus, I’ll always have a soft spot for first appearance versions of video game characters.

Urgh! Chunky Kong statue obtained, but that Lanky Kong statue still seems so far off...

*sings forlornly* can inflate himself... just like a balloon... this crazy Kong just digs... *sniff* this tune...

I thrive off the attention for my silly, sweary posts. But this bit of heartwarming gamer dadness has apparently struck a chord.

I feel like Monsters Inc when they find out laughter is better than screams.
Donkey Kong Bananza will be a formative game for my 6-year-old, the same way Super Mario Bros. was for me. She beat most of the game herself and yesterday we rolled credits. She's excited to keep going too. The Kong-loving torch has been passed!

Seems like Kirby Air Riders will have the same problem as Kirby Air Ride... It's a fun racing game with quirky mechanics that will be fun for a while... But not long enough to unlock all the squares on its massive achievement boards.

I have a fondness for old UK videogame brands, and I'm always disappointed when I disappear down the rabbithole of mergers and acquisitions.

Ocean Software is owned by Namco Bandai Holdings. Codemasters is basically the F-1 wing of Electronic Arts. It breaks my little ol' heart it does!
