Many folks' final assessment of Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser---the closest thing to a multi-million-dollar larp experience we've ever gotten and one of Disney's highest-ever-rated attractions---came from a 4-hour complaint video about its game app, instantly accepted as sacred dogma.
Whenever I say this, people get Really Mad, but it's true. Same of any other art, too. You have to read the book, watch the film, see the painting, listen to the song, whatever.

I'm sorry, but watching a video about it on YouTube is not enough. You have not experience the art.
"you have not played the game unless you've played the game" is one of my more annoying but unshakable opinions

I just found out that Michael Shannon did a bunch of live performances of Neil Young's music some years back, and I can see how that could have prepared him to join the Superman franchise.

Because Neil before Zod.

I used to share book recommendations on the other place but got out of the habit this year as engagement massively dropped off. Thinking about putting together my top 10 list for this year though, so as a test, like this, and for each like I'll recommend something great I read in the past 5 years

Since 15 Sept IFTAS has tracked a network of over 300 Mastodon accounts engaged in a high-volume propaganda campaign, promoting pro-Russian narratives:

Have I sailed as close as you are legally allowed to do to have a nose at the SS Montgomery?

Of course.

Moment I knew she existed, I was out there faster than Jay Hulme when he spots a rickety ladder in a church.

Here she is:

According to my study of foodtube comments, the difference between Eastern Europe and Northern Europe is "no, we came up with that" and "no, that was their fault".

NE sample size is tiny, though, because most YouTube chefs have too much dignity for the unspeakable acts toward fish committed here.

For any unfamiliar with the quality of journalism at Teen Vogue, it's well known for hard-hitting stories on "politically sensitive" topics including climate.

Then there's CBS: the only major network to increase climate coverage in the last few years. They just axed nearly their whole climate team.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
