*whispers* you can continue to read me, the pundit who insisted the other pundits were wrong about these conclusions
basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

I don’t get the people who think season 1 of arcane is more radical or anticop than season 2. Like Silco is given clear villian framing and his choice lead to awful shit in season 1 for the undercity whereas in season 2 Jinx is given hero framing, the riots against oppression are framed as right

almost every suggestion is something that was in the dem platform already
The list of things centrists think Dems should run on is so striking. There's some good stuff in here (expand Medicare to vision & dental), but it's mostly technical tweaks and preservation of the status quo.
Like yes, ban congressional stock trading but it's not exactly a compelling vision.

yeah if I were still adjuncting in Nebraska I would probably be forgoing insurance
Minnesota looks good on this map of Obamacare price hikes post-subsidy expiration … until you realize “good” means a $12,000-$17,999 annual increase, not a $28,000-$49,000. www.cbpp.org/research/hea...

In the final days of New York City’s mayoral race, Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani has faced pushback over a story he told about his aunt being afraid to wear her hijab while riding the subway after the September 11, 2001, attacks. https://cnn.it/432IAcr

you don't in fact have to defend the blackwater mercenary with the nazi tattoo just because he occasionally says platitudes about hating oligarchs
Establishment Democrats spent a full year complaining the Left forced them to be “woke.”
But then a left populist, Graham Platner, threatened to win in Maine, so they went right back to trying to cancel someone over old internet posts.

Meeting yesterday with Brianna Ghey's mother Esther - and pupils at Brianna's former school - was a powerful reminder of why controls on social media and smartphone use in schools is so important for children, teachers and parents. (1/2)

Insurance is inherently redistributive so republicans will always do things to undermine things necessary to make it functional. If healthy people aren’t paying in, sick people will get completely fucked
DeSantis said “Most people, particularly under 50, what they really need is a catastrophic plan that’s affordable, where then they can pay whatever they’re doing out of a health savings account.”
