While Elon Musk brandished the DOGE buzzsaw, insiders saw Russ Vought’s prints on DOGE’s actions.

“I can’t imagine that the DOGE team knew to target all these little parts of the government without Russ pointing them there,” a former official said.

Russell Vought, Trump's Shadow President
From the wholesale gutting of federal agencies to the ongoing government shutdown, Russell Vought has drawn the road map for Trump's second term. Vought has consolidated power to an extent that insiders say they feel like “he is the commander in chief.”

Excellent article by ProPublica He's a quite hardcore Christian Nationalist and strongly allied with Miller.

He was very busy those 4 years between Trump's terms. Very. He came in with stacks of EO's for Trump to start signing starting on Day 1. His fingerprints are on *everything*.

Russell Vought’s influence on the second Trump Administration cannot be ignored.

All The Donors Financing Trump’s Ballroom As He Demolishes The White House
Trump may have destroyed American history by razing the East Wing, but at least these corporations and rich people get to buy access to the president.

Never in a million years. Sadly.
They’d never ever let Jack Smith testify publicly.

Jim Jordan will not allow it.

The majority & minority leaders disagreeing makes it a vote and there are 25 traitors and 18 Dems.

Keep your hopes in reality.

The use of "surge" here is so fucking grotesque. Trump is using Iraq War language against the citizens of his own country.
And the country's biggest soup kitchen. All those existing tables and chairs completely occupied 3 meals a day, 7 days a week.
So tax payers will have no equity or ownership in it. Is that the idea? Is he going to have the new construction deeded over to the Trump Properties portfolio?

If republicans are fine with this, is there any reason why he couldn't just... knock down the lincoln memorial? or the vietnam wall?

What else might he want to do to arlington cemetary besides putting his big weird french arch with gold dingleberries in front of it?

It’s not just the facade: Team Trump has wrecked much of the White House’s East Wing
By Tuesday afternoon, it appeared obvious that a significant portion of the East Wing has been demolished, the president's earlier vows notwithstanding.

It will be his favorite Trump Property yet. Will the next occupants have to buy him out?
The full East Wing of the White House will be torn down to make way for President Donald Trump's new ballroom, contradicting the former New York real estate magnate's pledge that the project would not interfere with the existing US landmark reut.rs/4qGJLIX 1/6
And so far, it all seems to be working. Trump now feels completely invincible.
