Friendly neighborhood cryptid haunting the skyline. Just an eldritch horror doing my level best to be helpful. Pronouns: Ominous they/them.
Whenever I clean house, my black nitrile gloves make me feel v. Psi Corps.

Gotta rewatch Walter Koenig’s Babylon 5 episodes…

Bad faith posts about negligent discharge conveniently avoid mentioning statistics.

Put into context, the chances of the hypothetical they're attempting is a (literal) struck by lightning situation. Possible, but massively less likely than other explanations.

During the pandemic, I finally watched all of #StarTrek — EVERYTHING — and one of the takeaways I had was that evaluating at the series or season level was pointless. Same with evaluating each episode in isolation.

The best level to critique Trek at is the *writer*.

Also, I keep hearing people say “the Trekkie fandom is toxic”. These assholes are not really Trekkies. I’ve been to the cons, I’ve been doing reviews and podcasts for nearly a decade. These people weren’t part of the community. They’re showing up now because they’re jumping on a grifter hate train.

Tiniest of #StarfleetAcademy spoilers:

The full soundtrack is already out, and one track has a theremin arrangement of the Original Series theme. Glorious.

The track titles suggest a few upcoming plot points, if you’re curious.

My buddy's 15 year DnD group is imploding because a couple of the long time players are defending the ICE murders and everyone else is appalled. This is a red line for normal people in a "get the fuck out and never talk to me again" way. The evil and injustice is instantly recognizable.

I hope Holly Hunter has seen this classic rom-com. I’m already enjoying her performance as Nahla Ake, but everyone can learn something from Maude.

What's the plan, Chuck? I run a fake news website. You're the Senate Minority Leader. What's the plan?

Alex from our time working together, while he was in nursing school. Later, he moved to ICU, working as a nurse to support critically ill Veterans. He had such a great attitude. We’d chat between patients about trying to get in a mountain bike ride together. Will never happen now

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

White. Hot. Rage.

By who? Who shot the person dead? You saw the video. We all know a federal agent shot a man dead who was prone on the ground. Also, it's not "according to officials." It's according to verified video seen with your eyes. Not saying what anyone can obviously see with their eyes is a form of lying.

I take it personally when former fans of #DragRace say it’s lame and played out.

Abandoning a show about a queer art form that has humanized hundreds of queer performers for a global audience looks like you’re abandoning us when we need support most because times got scary.

A coworker took this from her apartment. I haven't seen a crowd this size before. Maybe the first Women's March? But it was much much warmer that day. ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA!

Does someone want to run the math on what we can assume the half-Lanthanite Nahla Ake’s lifespan would be if her other half is Ocampa, not human?

(Have we seen her ears yet?)

I’m a completionist, so last night I watched a full playthrough of Star Trek: Borg (1996) and the fan production of Star Trek: Renegades / Renegades: Requiem.

They were exquisitely bad in the most charming way — so much heart — and proved the point to me that Trek doesn’t need huge SFX budgets.

My favorite part of a meme life cycle is when people voice how tired they are of it. Rookie mistake. Complain about a meme, you just fuel the fire in the hearts of memesters, like how the Streisand effect works.

The action to take is inaction; let it pass, and know that all suffering is transient.

Restaurant menus should surface vegan dishes to the very top of each section so vegans don’t have to hunt for what they can eat.

Then vegetarian, naturally.
