Friendly neighborhood cryptid haunting the skyline. Just an eldritch horror doing my level best to be helpful. Pronouns: Ominous they/them.

I dearly love this imperfect platform, but I do wish the Discover feed was purely people I don't follow (yet).

I understand the value of a catch-all, but it's untidy!

still amazing to me the number of movies, games, etc. which have Venus Flytrap-based creatures in some form compared to the actual native range of Venus Flytrap, which is like, the great untamed jungles of a few wet pine savannas in North Carolina

It would be very funny if Dolly Parton weighed in on this and said, "I love this cartoon, Elon Musk. When I'm a ghost, I will haunt YOU."

Dead End: Paranormal Park was an absolute treasure, by the way.

It's about a haunted Dollywood where the Dolly Parton is voiced by Miss Coco Peru.

Watching Psycho (1960) from my sickbed. It’s my favorite film ever and I think the scariest part is how Marion turns on the shower while standing directly under the spray. No warm up, no temp check. Just raw.

1) every year we all get to vote on which classic story gets made into a muppet movie

2) every year you guys make that muppet movie

3) we will ALL go see every one of these

4) you will never not profit from this

5) why are we not doing things this way

Most of the peoples of Hyrule seem incredibly adaptable to ecological change, evolving rapidly, but Gorons never change from Skyward Sword all the way to Wind Waker.

They're the giant pandas of the Zelda series, always teetering on extinction.

While we all wait years for the next #KDH, Ejae, Audrey, and Rei should just start recording new songs and touring as IRL Huntr/x to fill out the fictional back catalog.

And now I'm reminded of The Last Airbender (2010), where different members of the cast pronounced “avatar” as AV-uh-tar (ævətaɹ), AHV-uh-tar (avətaɹ), and UHV-uh-tar (ʌvətaɹ) for no reason.

When two characters occupy the same narrative and are *related*, but they pronounce words differently for no given plot reason, I get derailed and need to know whyyy.

I watched a show years ago where the main character pronounced cerebral palsy as suh-REE-bruhl (səɹibɹəl), but the actress playing his mother pronounced it SEH-ruh-bruhl (sɛɹəbɹəl).

Both are accepted pronunciations, but it was a bit of a suspension-of-disbelief breaker.

Fluvid should rhyme with sous-vide.

It’s high time to get your flu and COVID shots scheduled! This will maximize your resistance at both the predicted seasonal peaks.

Remember to schedule it when you’ve got a recovery day available in case they knock you flat on your ass.

The plot of the next Simpsons movie should be the kids at Springfield Elementary digging up a time capsule that was buried 40 years ago and realizing they're the same children who buried it because their world hasn't aged in 4 decades.

If all the letters of the Roman alphabet were symmetrical, we could have vertical tattoos that read the same in mirrors. For instance:

One of my favorite bits of worldbuilding on a show ever was in the Watchmen pilot (I believe that's the ep). Regina King is driving, and baby squid suddenly rain down from the sky. She pulls over, resigned and annoyed, gets out and cleans the windshield.

It's brilliant.

Here's why:
