I’m sure the only “rule” within this administration is “Make sure your crimes don’t interfere with the big guys.”

It's striking that even in the defenses of Bari Weiss's broader thing no one ever says that she or her website does good work. Even the people that admire the success she's had selling lite reactionary shit to rich old guys top out at "people do seem to like it." You could defend Jake Paul that way.

i continue to believe that there is massive insider trading going on inside the administration with this market manipulation -- whether trump is behaving with intentionality or not is a separate question

What you see here in the children’s father, Bandit, is the culmination of sin. A father whose very name evokes crime, the criminal of criminals. Bluey, the color of sorrow. Bingo, lust for games of chance. Mother Chilli, who works part time at an airport in which planes “soar into the heavens”, thi-

thiel, man, what the fuck are you talking about

He describes the plot of Watchmen, a 1986 graphic novel involving superheroes grappling with moral questions about humanity against the backdrop of impending nuclear war:

The antihero Ozymandias, the antichrist-type figure, is sort of an early-modern person. He believes this will be a timeless and eternal solution – eternal world peace. Moore is sort of a late-modern. In early modernity, you have ideal solutions, ‘perfect’ solutions to calculus. In late modernity, things are sort of probabilistic. And at some point, he asks Dr Manhattan whether the world government is going to last. And he says that ‘nothing lasts forever.’ So you embrace the antichrist and it still doesn’t work.

Thiel later finds biblical meaning in the manga One Piece, discussing how he believes it represents a future where an antichrist-like one-world government has repressed science. He believes that the hero, Monkey D Luffy, represents a Christlike figure.

In One Piece, you are set in a fantasy world, again sort of an alternate earth, but it’s 800 years into the reign of this one-world state. Which, as the story unfolds, gradually gets darker and darker. You sort of realize, in my interpretation, who runs the world and it’s something like the antichrist. There’s Luffy, a pirate who wears a red straw hat, sort of like Christ’s crown of thorns. And then towards the end of the story, transforms into a figure who resembles Christ in Revelation.

Thiel, along with a researcher and writer at Thiel Capital, explored these ideas at greater length in an essay for the religious journal First Things earlier this month.

They're talking about killing leftist activists. They're talking about murdering people organizing in defense of immigrant communities, doing mutual aid work, and protesting their violence. They are talking about murdering people like me and my friends. We must do more than acknowledge it's fascism.

My gosh. After the US bombed multiple boats in the middle of the ocean, murdering people on grounds that they were allegedly "carrying drugs," the US Attorney General says "Just like we did with cartels, we're going to take the same approach, President Trump, with Antifa."

Socialist Cuba keeps training young Palestinians as doctors, while the capitalist and white supremacist West keeps backing the genocide and occupation of the Palestinian people.

Cuba continues to show the world what true solidarity looks like. 🇨🇺❤️🇵🇸
A large group of more than 100 Palestinian medical students pose for a photo with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel inside a bright hall at the Palace of the Revolution in Havana. The students—many of them wearing white medical coats and black-and-white keffiyehs—surround Díaz-Canel, who is also wearing a keffiyeh around his shoulders. Everyone smiles warmly, with several students making peace signs and leaning in close together. The background shows lush indoor greenery, wooden paneling, and reflective black marble floors. The atmosphere feels proud and joyful, representing Cuba’s ongoing solidarity with Palestine and its revolutionary commitment to educating and training Palestinian youth as doctors. A screenshot of a post from @PresidenciaCuba on twitter. The post reads:

> “🇨🇺 | More than 100 young Palestinians studying Medicine in #Cuba were this afternoon at the Palace of the Revolution, where they were received by President @DiazCanelB, in an afternoon filled with emotions and solidarity toward #Palestina.”

Below the text is a photo of the students posing with President Miguel Díaz-Canel in the Palace of the Revolution. The group fills the hall, smiling and standing close together under bright lighting and surrounded by tall indoor plants. The image celebrates Cuba’s internationalist solidarity and its tradition of offering free education to students from oppressed nations, especially Palestinians.

If I post an ASCII Goatse to you in reply to some, asinine comment or truly offensive response, there are only two acceptable paths forward. Block me and move on. Respectable. Second, is to track me down and fight me in a duel. Don’t reply. Have some self respect. I just showed you a gaping asshole.
