First they demand that employers eliminate DEI decisions in hiring (which includes disabled workers) and now are saying that the increased hiring of disabled workers under DEI programs means older disabled people shouldn’t qualify for disability benefits?

How Orwellian of them!

Iran and Israel might want to rethink their nuclear installations as well.

A hit on one of those would make a fossil fuel accident look like a walk in the park!

Hard to believe that the industry thinks SMRs are a viable business rather than simply a way to harvest subsidies.

It’s even more puzzling that folks providing those subsidies keep going.

Paying an estimated 3 times as much per MWH & waiting 5+ times as long for implementation is incomprehensible!

At this point it’s hard to believe that the industry thinks SMRs are a viable business rather than simply a way to harvest subsidies.

But it’s puzzling that the folks providing those subsidies haven’t caught on.

The Generals didn’t look happy about having to leave their posts to be lectured to by a cosplaying Sec of Def.

It was meant to show what could happen to them if they don’t toe the traitor-in-chief’s line.

But arresting citizen veterans might make them understand the even higher cost of compliance!

"I believe that Americans would agree that the government can’t just make people disappear without any process or explanation. Second, because I want to give the government a chance to admit that they were wrong.

So far the government has not done so."

I’m a US citizen and a veteran. ICE arrested me for no reason.
Jailed for three days without an explanation or ability to notify anyone, George Retes argues the only path to healing starts with the government taking accountability for its actions.

@mzjacobson.bsky.social is actually #1 in my book.
He not only does the math, he also makes sure that people know the facts in a consistent and understandable manner.

Here’s a free ‘gifted’ link to the article.
Important for all of us to keep informed - particularly on the subject of “spectacular mishaps”:

We should all be alarmed by how high gas ‘delivery’ costs are no matter which state we live in.

With the rapid rise in cheaper wind and solar, the continued construction of ‘stranded assets’ to keep us locked into this expensive, climate-killing energy is unconscionable.

I don’t think that ‘not accepting an endorsement’ is an actual option.

While the pipefitters union is pro-pipelines (and have protested at many anti-pipeline events we’ve held) electricians and roofers should gain from emphasizing renewables.

All in all there should be more longer term jobs.

Happy to see that climate scientist extraordinaire Sandra Steingraber also points out the link between the high cost of living in NY City and the high utility costs of fossil fuels.

We need a true environmentalist like Zohran Mamdani to bring our bills down!

Hey everyone who’s not a New Yorker but following the Mamdani phenomenon: here’s a great new update on NYC mayoral race + fantastic interview with NYC organizer @petesikora.bsky.social linking #climate and affordable housing in the campaign. Master class in messaging.

Noting that renewable energy is cheaper than fossil fuels should be a ‘no brainer’ for anyone who’s concerned about the high cost of living in NY City!

Thanks to @petesikora.bsky.social for pointing that out & to Zorhan Mamdani for prioritizing the environment to make NYC a better place to live.

Orwell would’ve been impressed by the ‘up is down’ nature of his propaganda:
“A tyrant’s fantasy is to have a massive green economy transition,” he said in 2023. “You can get rid of private property, you can control people’s movements. It’s fundamentally the abolition of civilization as we know it.”
nsvann.bsky.social
We should definitely stop referring to the current situation as ‘unprecedented’ and should start recognizing how horrific things have been for how very long a time for how many groups of people right here in the U.S.A.

Just a suggestion to those who don't look like me in all our many beautiful shades: when you say this has never happened before you mean to y'all. When you say "this is not how we are" you mean to each other. My folk can give dates and times this
sh!t has happened to us and yes that's who you are.

Fossil fuel money at work:
“Despite clear, sustained evidence that CCUS is not a climate solution, is not a good public investment, & is not safe for nearby communities, CCUS has for many years and across many respected quarters been characterized as a necessary technology for the energy transition”

Not surprising that:

Wouldn’t it be nice if this Wildland Fire Fighting Compact had even more members?

Maybe expanding out of the Northwest?

Could it get to a total of say 50 states?

Oh wait - that would be the U.S. government doing what it ought to do!
nsvann.bsky.social
Don’t forget the ‘swims in sewage’ recommendation (for building up
immunity?)

More on ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ in his next hearing (along with ‘opiates for beginners’ and ‘arsenic for hair loss’).

Many radioactive isotopes have long half-lives and can morph into other dangerous elements.

The Radium-226 and Radium-228 in this fracking waste water “are known carcinogens that can increase the risk of bone, liver, and breast cancer” and it should be illegal to expose the public to them anywhere!

So the Trump acolytes see this as primarily performative while the embedded Project 2025 folks see it as a key assassination in their bataan march to authoritarianism?
