A few days after the referendum an Eastern European student told me that they were now afraid to speak their mother tongue openly. While politicians drifted to the hard right, and Kuenssberg and Peston treated it all like some game, real people were and are still suffering.

He used us Remain/Rejoiners to get the leadership, then betrayed us.

The biggest problem, though, is those who *won't*.

I don't regard ppl who wilfully voted to rob me of my rights & identity as a European citizen as being deserving of life.

I meant Brexiters, regardless of age. My late father was a Remainer – Brexit broke his heart for last yr of his life. I'm now 60 – was on most of the big marches pre-lockdown.

Sign-language had been used in the Middle Ages in silent religious orders or during silent meal times in other religious orders. This is an interesting post-reformation secular use: I wonder if this was based on the older monastic forms?

I'd like it to be helped along.

Speak for yrself. Most of the ppl on the big marches agst Brexit in London were from England. 13 mill Remain voters were. I loathe this self-hating/self-deprecating schtick.

I think it may be parsed as "the second who left and..." (after Dyson, I presume).

The Red Lines were May's. There's no good reason for a Labour govt to trap itself in them.

Unfortunately, it is now.

I don't understand why they always seem to appoint extreme authoritarians as Home Secretary. It seems to be the go-to post for psychos.

Yes. Mahmood seems to be part of the Blue Labour clique.

Absolutely honoured to be named @attitudemag.bsky.social trailblazer of the year in their #101 list.

As a gay man, I know it's a worrying time for our LGBTIQA+ community.

We are under attack.

When they come for one of us, they come for all of us. And we will stand together.

That is indeed a lovely quad!

@frockflicks.bsky.social have dissected it brilliantly from a costume perspective alone.
