Every case study like this should be balanced by one such as a 15-year-old with suicidal ideation unable to receive any help because CAMHS has been cut to virtual non-existence.
Huge respect to the papers for finding both an 88 year old worried about the tax bill on her 6 bedroom Kensington house and a 20 year old fretting about only being able to save £12k a year tax free.
Top work all around. These are not easy case studies to find.

I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

Question for Powell: how can the public purse, that is us, who can afford to pay tax, supporting the most vulnerable people in our society be a "symptom of failure"?

It'd be great if one day we had a Government who planned to cut the welfare bill by job creation and a proper living wage, rather than whipping the safety net out from under people who are already struggling. I suppose it's too much to ask a *Labour* government to support workers, though.
"I want to get the welfare bill down - its size is a symptom of failure."

Does Labour Deputy Leader Lucy Powell foresee Labour backing welfare cuts as the bill keeps climbing?

“The church at its best is after the benediction, when you leave the Lord’s house, go into the Lord’s world,” African Methodist Episcopal Bishop Reginald Jackson preached two days before his death on 11/25. My RNS story:

The race for clicks in a constant, never-ending news cycle has absolutely decimated news journalism in the way it has driven journalists towards irresponsible crap like this over and over again
very odd that the Post would write up someone’s speciation as if it’s news. What are we doing here

it would be either:

1. 'he came here legally'

2. 'but he's worked hard'

3. 'america isn't a terrorist country'

4. 'that's different'

4b. (when pressed on 4) 'it just is'

none of those make a lick of sense, but it'd be one of them
Previous Prime Minister Boris Johnson was born in the United States. I'd love for her to tell me that's different and then try to explain why without being racist.
Excuse my language but …

I am so fucking tired of shit like this.

My worry is that most of his base will separate into two camps; those who refuse to believe these stories and stand by him, and those who believe these stories and like him even more as a result

I take on average 10,000 stills and a half hour of video every week. Most I'll never think about again. This I'll hold onto until I grow old. 4 hours ago.

Zero edits. No recoloring. No cropping. Nothing. Just straight up reality. 🦑
