San Josef Bay is in Cape Scott Provincial Park, close to the northwest tip of Vancouver Island. I travelled there with friend, and fellow photographer, @drakedyck.bsky.social on January 30th. We arrived with only 1.5 hours of daylight left. Contre-jour lighting can be a challenge.

Just as our forecasts are turning chilly, my old warmer gave out.
I stopped by the Wild Bird store in Freeland and picked up one of their units.
VERY WELL MADE, much sturdier (it's always the element and wiring that quit) and good price point of $33.00.
