Got a few new followers, so I wanted to write a little self-intro.

I'm Oli! An autistic genderfluid furry writer from the UK, who takes comms & writes books!

I've published a Fantasy/Western called "Crystal Gunslinger", and my current project is a Trans Magical Girl book - "Project Starslayer".

A sign reads "Dog Girl Club -- Meeting today. A Room of three anthro wolves and a doggirl sit on the floor together. Two of the anthros howl, the dog girl blushes, ogling a wolf, while another wolf says "Welcome to the pack!"

Nothing but respect for this! Love your games, and great to see the studio doesn't tolerate this kind of behaviour.

It cannot be made clearer.

If you continue to support the Harry Potter franchise in any way, you are directly funding the removal of trans people's human rights in the UK.

Please consider grabbing it and leaving a review for some of the books! I speak from personal experience when I say that a detailed review can mean the world to an indie author.

It means so much to know you've connected with someone, and that they enjoyed your work enough to review it!

I'm part of the "Under-Rated Books" bundle on Itch, from now until the 13th! It's a collection of 63 books for $38, from indie authors like myself, who haven't gotten many reviews on their work!

Artwork of a new OC with plenty of robot parts.

I wanted to make a "zombie" type of character, but I felt like I wanted my own twist on it past stitching imagery and it spiraled out of control...

Artwork of Drolta from Castlevania Nocturne. Drolta is an attractive, tall, dark-skinned woman with a slim, athletic build ample muscle and pointy ears. She has long, flame-like pink hair and pink eyes with black sclera. She often wears black clothing and a pair of large, pin-like earrings.

I'd recommend it on sale for sure.

Also played the DLC, Order of Giants. I'm much more mixed about that. It doesn't add any new mechanics or much story. It's just a bit more of everything.

More fun puzzles, more undercooked combat, another bad boss fight. Massively overpriced for what it is imo.

Beat Indiana Jones and the Great Circle today! Overall, pretty fun. The exploration and puzzles were great, but the combat and stealth gameplay were pretty bad (Boss fights SUCKED).

They did a really fantastic job capturing the feel of the movies, and there are some great cinematic sequences.

Started playing Digimon Story Time Stranger! Being genderfluid, I LOVE that I can change my character's appearance and name freely.

I know for most people it's just a small QOL thing, but it's always super nice to have the option, so my character matches myself.

Plus, their designs are both fire.

You should support trans authors for many reasons, but one is that trans authors are doing things with their stories that aren't being done in cis mainstream books, including taking old tropes & examining them in new, unique ways. So if you're bored with what the big 5 are constantly pushing...
pairofclaws.bsky.social
On that note:

Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day.

Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links.

Being a trans author is fucking weird right now. Hell is actively unfolding all around us but I still need to be like, "hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book? It won't make anything better, but it's kinda fun?"

Only found out that the cover art is AI after finishing the book, and that felt extremely gross. Doesn't factor into my review, but yeah, fuck that.

Finished the first book of Heretical Fishing, definitely not for me.

I heard some great things about it from folks, and there's definitely some enjoyable parts, but also a lot of weird stuff like rampant fatphobia, poor handling of slavery, and some painfully bad writing.
1.5/5

Definitely wasn't for me. I did enjoy some of the cosy aspects, like the focus on community, helping others, and healing. I can also give major props to the narration, since I listened to the Audiobook version.

The writing and overall story, however, were a very mixed bag for me. Every time the author was describing the noble characters, it ended up feeling really fatphobic, with so much detail on their bodies that it gets massively uncomfortable. It's the cartoonish and problematic writing that I'd expect from JK Rowling, and it doesn't really get better when the issue of slavery comes up.

It's not handled well in the slightest, and is a very poor choice and tonal shift from the cute critters, cosiness and comedy. The cover of heretical fishing, book one.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."
