This is why Republican gerrymandering is so bad for actual people - if elected officials are not accountable to their voters, to whom are they accountable? Wealthy donors who couldn’t care less about rural hospitals or people’s basic needs at all?

We talk in my household about what it used to be like to have a president who was smart and wanted the best for this country. Our kids (who don’t know that time) need to know that we had that, and with work and resistance (and yes hope), it doesn’t have to be like this forever.
