Sometimes you just gotta let people know.
We should all watch the most recent episode of Abbott Elementary.
As a man, would you be upset if your lady was accepting money or gifts from a man who wanted to spend on her? For the sake of this example let’s say it’s long distance.

Olivia is a journalist so she has to choose her words carefully.

I am not. So let me say this another way:

This grown ass man stopped his car in the middle of the road, got out and started hitting teenage girls. Then the teenage boys with those girls beat his ass.

2 weeks ago, the El Paso Medical Examiner ruled the death of a Cuban ICE detainee a homicide.

This time, when a 32-year-old Nicaraguan man died, ICE bypassed the county medical examiner in favor of a military facility. They won’t publicly release a ruling.

The Post eliminated its books section and most of its local coverage. The Kennedy Ctr ended all of performances.

Institutions are community ANCHORS. Writers of books, dancers, teaching artists, hip hop poets, musicians, critics, they depended on an ecosystem anchored by the Kennedy Ctr & WaPo.

A brief, recent history of the Washington Post:

1- Trump wins in 2024.
2- Bezos and minions make series of Trump-friendly changes to paper.
3-Readership tanks.
4- Bezos and minions fire tons of employees while telling them the audience just doesn't like what they're doing.

I may have a stroke.

Someone said protests don’t belong in church and it took every ounce of self-censure within me not to say “Deborah you are literally a Protestant.”

A PROTESTant.

I assume they think Luther was nailing Bed, Bath, & Beyond coupons to the door.

Here's something I've been thinking about: even in a best case scenario where ICE is finally reigned in, all these agents who have been given a taste of power will have to go somewhere. And no matter where that is, it's not going to be a good thing.

ICE just attempted an illegal entry into the ECUADORIAN CONSULATE to abduct someone

They did not have a warrant

"Members of Congress are not typically assigned security details, but the speaker can approve protection. During Trump’s first term, Nancy Pelosi provided Omar with 24-hour Capitol Police protection after she was targeted at rallies. Omar has said Mike Johnson has not offered her similar protection"

My siblings and I are really close. I didn't fully realize or appreciate that until I saw what some of the sibling relationships of people we grew up with looked like as adults.
Quick question for people with siblings… do y’all get along as adults, or nah?

Now I'm also thinking about the monks walking in this weather.
The local news just featured a segment on a Durham artist who witnessed the Buddhist monks on their walk for peace in High Point, was inspired to paint what he saw, and finished it *just* in time to drive it (TODAY...in THIS WEATHER) to them en route to Wake Forest.

Lt. Illinois Gov. Juliana Stratton just addressed the crowd, and called for ICE to be abolished.

If we take as a default that Christianity is supposed to be about the betterment of self and society (which...yeah), American evangelism has turned it into something else entirely. The lesson its adherents have taken away is "do whatever you want because anything you do gets forgiven."
Joel Berry, Managing Editor of the Babylon Bee, wrote this AM that: “If we lose heart every time a feral Communist commits suicide by cop, our country isn’t gonna make it *** I’m so beyond letting my Christian compassion get weaponized by Leftist death-worshippers…” (His “Christian compassion”) 1/
