It's so calming to me - watching these mazes grow and transform.

A tiny nudge toward neighbors = surprisingly natural motion.

Vector3 smoothPos = (prev + next) * 0.5f;
pos = Vector3.Lerp(pos, smoothPos, smoothFactor);

Smooth just a little—and your growth stops looking “programmed” and starts feeling designed.

Using simple snippets like this makes Differential Growth to chose when to bend:

float curvature = Vector3.Angle(prev - pos, next - pos);
if (curvature > bendThreshold)
InsertNode(i, pos + normal * growthAmount);

A small 3d town kit for a ww2 indie game that never was from a few years back.

Been diving deep into differential growth using the updated Blender Geometry Nodes.

I wanted to test several growth modes, that I also showcase in the video:

I’m humbled to see the extraction beacon I painted for #Exoborn remade in real life(!) - had no idea it was being worked on until I saw the photos from #gamescom.

Illustration I did for Paradox Interactive's Imperator, depicting an architect scrutinizing his apprentice's work.

Love working for PDX and their take on historical accuracy, I felt very much like the apprentice in the picture showing my work to their ADs.

20 years ago Half Life 2 was released to the public. Both the first Half Life and the sequel have been one of the most influential games for me growing up.
