I started messing around in Risk of Rain 2 because the artstyle is honestly quite cute and despite being a roguelike and me passionately hating those, I'm having quite a bit of fun. It's not as tense as Hades, I can kinda turn off my brain.

1/2 I find myself having to make this point more often.
The muddying of distinction between the bullshit engine and genuinely life-saving applications of ML / AI is intentional. It allows the people trying to sell you genAI to claim noble intent and dismiss legitimate concerns.

Having AI crammed down our throats is bullshit, but machine learning has some real uses in science. This awesome page shows experimental cyclone track forecasts from Google DeepMind and Google Research's AI weather models, along with forecasts from ECMWF. 😍

Me parece de traca que tengamos que seguir diciendo que la IA generativa es una basura infecta que mata la creatividad y las pocas neuronas que nos quedan, pero bueno, seguiremos resistiendo hasta que los roboces se harten de nosotros y nos lleven a la extinción supongo 🤷♀️

The more I think about it, the more I want to move Calanthe's visual representations from the kind of art you'd find in Pathfinder to what you'd see in Adventure Time.

And done. It dragged a bit at parts, platforming in first person is a mess and the combat was finicky at best, but I had fun all in all.
I think it would've been betternif Machinegames had committed to an immersive sim, the game ended up feeling a bit halfbaked.
Now we move on to other games!

It's a great adventure game, but my hyperfixation is moving back towards Calanthe. And a Calanthe with a very different aesthetic than it used to at that.
