I'm very sorry to everyone facing this. I don't think it was even two years ago I argued that tech jobs would be among the earliest and most vulnerable to AI disruption and getting scoffed at

Thank you! Yes this gets at what I am wondering. I will have to dig deeper. Trying to really understand Enron and then the securitization before the GFC taxed my brain, but time to do it again methinks

I guess an important question for me would be how much of the DC development market is made up of these boxes, vs. more secure ownership. But yes, very bad enron vibes with this structure

The reason I ask is that I keep coming back to the fact that, at least for the big boys, they are doing this with cash/revenue and not leverage. That would limit the damage unless they are turning around and issuing debt anyways through this structure

I don't get that newsletter, so not sure if this is in there... but, are the mega-tech corps using this structure rather than own their own data centers. I am familiar with Amzn, and they are just building their own with cash on hand. Are they then turning around and doing this?

This is a good illustration of what’s happening tonight re ICE leadership purge. Posts and caption identify this dude as ICE, but his uniform says Border Patrol. A LOT of the most aggro stuff that has been casually attributed to ICE (esp in Chicago and LA, and in Portland in 2020) was actually CBP.

Its so hard to understand the scope and scale of the Federal attack on Chicago, led by ICE and CBP.

I put this map and table together, highlighting the most significant incidents from 9/19-10/25. The area shown is roughly 30 by 35 miles with incidents in all corners.

A map of Chicago and some of the surrounding area. It shows 24 map locations, with a table explaining the locations. The map markers are mostly for ICE/CBP attacks on communities and protesters, along with a few other.
