Clair Obscur’s now confirmed Gen-AI usage during the development process has caused their IGA debut and GOTY wins to be retracted.
The IGAs Nomination Committee is officially retracting Debut Game and Game of the Year, awarding both categories to new recipients. Additionally, we are retracting one of the Indie Vanguard recipients.

I understand that ebooks have basically taken over as the cheap book format, but I'll miss the mass market paperbacks. Trade paperbacks are just so inconvenient, and look bad on a shelf.
All my recent books went from hardcover to trade paperback and almost all of my backlist in mass market has now migrated to trade. The role of mass market paperbacks is now handled almost entirely by ebooks. I'm okay with this but it is the end of an era.

I understand that ebooks have basically taken over as the cheap book format, but I'll miss the mass market paperbacks. Trade paperbacks are just so inconvenient, and look bad on a shelf.

It was a smart move from Geoff to make sure that you focus less on the awards by giving it to the same game for everything. That way you can save anticipation for the 8th sekiro clone trailer of the night.
I probably say this every year, but I can't believe how little the game awards pretends to be about awards anymore. It'll only be another year or two before all awards in the pre-show and the main thing is just ads.
