It's past time to be loudly opposing the ongoing attack on the education system and boycotting gen AI and the billionaire losers betting our country's economy and resources on this slop. But if you haven't yet, today is a good day to start

Anyway ditch amazon and target (if u haven't already literally why) and buy from small artists and businesses, especially this holiday season. You're literally putting food on their table and a roof over their head instead of funding The Most Evil Men Imaginable.

NEW: Firings of LGBTQ staff at NBC and Condé Nast have worsened an already dire picture for legacy news media when it comes to covering the trans community.

Living with Long COVID often feels like living in a horror movie. Along with your disease comes a creepy Hive Mind refusal to acknowledge the dangers of COVID infection. In Vince Gilligan's new Apple TV show Pluribus, the Hive Mind comes to life:

Oh, I feel some type of way about this. And since I plan to tell off everyone I can before I die, I am going to talk about it. Welcome to my Ted Talk: "Latin actors can save Star Wars--but does it deserve to be saved?"
Oscar Isaac is open to returning to Star Wars but “not so open to working with Disney”

“I mean, I’d be open to it, although right now I’m not so open to working with Disney. But if they can kinda figure it out and, you know, not succumb to fascism, that would be great”

And I've been doing politics for long enough to know clearly that the entire Senate Democratic caucus agreed to this decision to fold. Open your eyes. The 8 who "broke" did so with the complete blessing of Schumer and their colleagues. You don't have to play along because this is not a game. The end

Imani has some scathingly accurate videos on how the Dems caved on healthcare (and will continue to do so) because 1) they'll be using it for midterms and 2) private equity is set to make trillions off of us since Covid mass-disabled this country. It pisses me off, bc I can see it.

Again: these people will not change their behavior or their culture until the consequences are meaningful. Start fining tech companies 1/3 their yearly revenue for each infraction, and then we'll start to get somewhere.
Meta earns $3.5 billion every six months from showing Faceboon and Instagram users 15 billion “higher legal risk” scam ad impressions a day, internal documents state.

That haul vastly exceeds how much the company expects regulators

The mega churches and their parishioners are now pushing back online, claiming they don’t offer aid because they’re afraid of being scammed.
If you would rather keep your $20 and risk letting a baby starve than stump up for a tin of formula for someone not in need then you’re no follower of Christ.
A lady on TikTok has been calling churches pretending to be a mother with a baby who needs formula and several churches turned her away. But wouldn’t you know that when she called a Mosque (Islamic Center of Charlotte) they immediately said yes.

Binarism hurts everyone and there are absolutely ppl who aggressively stereotype brown & black men who absolutely make up a lot of drivers

We should stop violence & discrimination against marginalized folks in all its forms

Assuming someone is a predator because of gender is actually v fucked up
“The dual class action suits allege that the functions—which followed thousands of sexual harassment and assault lawsuits against Uber and Lyft over the years— have limited the economic opportunities for men and discriminated against them because of their gender.”
