I am constantly so impressed with my local GP clinic. It is impossibly efficient. There is no relationship with an individual doctor - I don't want one - but the moment you have a concern about something they sort a call back that day or a walk-in appointment that week. They're just brilliant.

🚨New hospitals paper out today🚨

As covered in The Guardian (theguardian.com/society/2025...), today we published the final 'Hospital of the Future' paper.

This concluding essay distils the key themes and recommendations from across all three 'Hospital of the Future' reports.

1/ One of the privileges of writing 'It Takes A Village' with @ippr.org has been hearing from parents about what it’s really like raising healthy children today.

Together with a @publicfirst.bsky.social survey of 1,500+ parents, we held 6 focus groups across England.

Here are my key takeaways 👇

Tomorrow is a hugely important day.

At 4pm, the UK Covid-19 Inquiry will publish its report into the UK’s pandemic decision-making & political governance.

I dearly hope our political leaders & decision-makers will listen, learn &, above all, act on the findings.

Because there will be a next time.

There's a remarkable amount of good quality evidence for the value of online patient feedback for the NHS.

Most feedback is positive (lifts morale, reduces burnout) + patients are better than staff at predicting hospital mortality.
