Thanks Graeme. Fantastic work on the book (both books!)

Obsessed with the Nobel Peace Prize guy's arms.

Leave me alone, Simple Minds, you bloody stalkers! (I'm thrilled, obviously 🙂) Glad you enjoyed the show. Where was it?

I’m delighted and honoured to have contributed a chapter to this excellent new book about one of my favourite periods of Doctor Who. As I type this, the Kickstarter page went live 45 minutes ago and it’s already over halfway to hitting the target!

That audience did give me a sliver of hope, actually. (It's the hope that kills you.)

Absolutely this. Was quite enjoying Zack Polanski and Zia Yusuf going at it on QT last night, then had to have a word with myself. It's good telly, but terrible for democracy.

I can still recite the whole of Take Me, I'm Yours (and did, in the bath recently) but can't remember to put the bins out.

Amen to that. (Though Difford's the lyric man, surely?)

Please imagine Jenna Coleman tapping her watch at you.

I like The Number One Song in Heaven, but I still think Pet Shop Boys went on to do that stuff so much better.

I like everything about Sparks - the attitude, the aesthetic, the jokes - except the actual songs.

Well, I guess this is as good as it gets, career-wise. A magazine cover story about a band that's been the soundtrack to my life for 40 years.

Stick a fork in me, I'm done 😎

FB Memories reminds me of the time those lads who were selling a bowl of Lucky Charms for six quid a pop got a book deal and produced the laziest 'Will this do?' thing ever published.
Cereal Killer. Like serial killer. Those people who murder people. Geddit? If you put a gun to my head on a rollercoaster while defusing a bomb I could still think of something better than what they've farted onto this page. Cut out masks of the two perpetrators of the cafe should you wish to look like a prick or a twat.

Will Smith is really bringing his Marillion fetish to work this season. #SlowHorses

See also I'm A Celeb. Always more fun watching people forge unlikely friendships than tedious manufactured rows. (Which is why Big Brother is unwatchable.)

US #Traitors casts sneaky & backstabbing celebrities to amp up drama. UK celeb version already feels smart for the opposite instinct: national treasures, Olympians and overall sound types. Their liking for each other makes the game more challenging and the programme funnier & warmer. Great first ep.

Alan Carr is such a great booking. #CelebrityTraitors

Could make good use of these round here.

And... Leonard Cohen, Stuart Murdoch, Justin Currie, Neil Tennant, Conor Oberst, Jenny Lewis, Guy Garvey... (Most overrated: Bob bloody Dylan)

Paddy McAloon. (But Taylor is definitely up there.)

I also need to know: I am fairly middle-of-the-road on Taylor Swift but someone I know called her the Greatest Living Lyricist. She is not.

Who is yours? Either the greatest or your favorite?

We definitely need to get more kids studying STEM subjects. And Britain does have a long-running productivity problem, which means a lower standard of living for everyone. But they should offer incentives for that, instead of just trash-talking the humanities.

Yes, Media Studies absolutely *should* be one of the most important subjects a student can take in the current landscape. But the GCSE Media Studies syllabus is not fit for purpose. My son spent more time studying [checks notes] the 2015 BBC cop drama Cuffs than media ownership.
