Believer in rule of law above all other things. I don't care how many people follow me. I'm not here to entertain. I want to raise the level of discourse and learn.
I heard about someone killed during an ICE car chase. How does ICE have any authority to engage in car chases? They are usually driving rented SUVs with no warning lights. They are not trained in car chases.
Every ICE officer who has broken the law should be arrested, tried, and imprisoned for their crimes.

Quite rare to have so much news on the NYT before there's any mention of Trump.

With Orban's election coming in April, and Orban behind in the polls, it's pretty clear that the Trump administration is working to keep the global slide into authoritarianism moving.

A child dying of cancer spent her final days fighting to free her wrongfully detained father from ICE custody.

This comes just weeks after a mother from Maryland was denied the right to be at her son’s side as he died from cancer.

Not one dime for this cruelty.

We must speak plainly about the agenda Elon Musk & other MAGA leaders are pushing. It’s white nationalism.

There’s no room for Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native, Jewish or all other Americans in Musk’s monocultural vision.

Multiculturalism is superior. We can’t allow Musk & others to end it.

If there's a Democrat you don't want to vote for, then go work your ass off in the primary for the candidate you want in the general. That's what happened in NJ with Analilia Mejia. But don't just whine about centrist Dems. And if the nominee is a centrist Dem, shut the fuck up and vote for them.

The turning point in this was when they teased the Epstein files to the QAnon folks with the big binder show. Note how the right wingers seem to have lost interest in the files now that they know who is in them.

I find myself thinking about historian Robert Paxton’s 2004 definition of fascism far too often than I’d like these days. Note that these sentences were written back when Donald Trump was a NYC playboy libertine who donated to Democrats.

Assuming the pendulum swings to Dems, the rebuilding of the DOJ has to be a top priority. To make that work, Congress needs to reinforce DOJ's independence in ways that a future Trump cannot unwind.
The Justice Department’s top antitrust attorney, who had bipartisan support, announced her departure yesterday over conflict with department leaders on how aggressively to enforce antitrust laws. The rate at which we’re losing qualified professionals is alarming.

Wanna watch a man drown and root for it?
Trump nominated a legit white nationalist to a top post at the State Department. I asked him some basic questions about his belief in the “erasure of white culture”. Watch this embarrassing, fumbling answer. Like he has never before been asked to explain his views.

When Bondi says, "Nobody asked Garland about this," or "Why Biden didn't release the files," the response has to be this:

You're right. We all moved on when we shouldn't have. But thanks to your stunt with the QAnon "binders" we had our eyes opened. I'm sure your boss thanks you for that as do we.

I think everyone needs to apologize to these victims because if it wasn't for Pam Bondi and the Epstein "binders" even the left would have forgotten the victims. We had all moved on. But when it looked like the Trump administration was going to hang itself on a QAnon thing, everyone jumped in.

Quite a progression:
1. Disgusting video posted.
2. Outrage ensues.
3. Staffer gets blamed, no apology.
4. Time passes.
5. Staffer faces no punishment.
6. Trump defends the video content.
7. No outrage. Old news.
Q: Have you fired or disciplined the staffer who posted the video from your account that included the Obamas?

TRUMP: No I haven't. That was a video on voter fraud.
