Believer in rule of law above all other things. I don't care how many people follow me. I'm not here to entertain. I want to raise the level of discourse and learn.
This is a "touristy" part of DC. It is wildly unusual for any civilian to be armed in DC, particularly in that location. It suggests it was premeditated. But I'll wait for facts.

It'll likely be a while before we know what happened. But I'm sure the President and/or Vice President will make a premature announcement speculating on what happened and what they are going to do in response.

We all believe in improving efficiency, and a team genuinely focused on that could do a world of good.

But the DOGE we could have had is a far cry from the DOGE we actually got.

When this is over I want trials. Consequences. I don't want to "move on", I want the whole world to stop while we have trials. I want their names taught to my grandchildren in their history class. Traitors.

This is the scandal. Trump isn’t targeting dangerous people. He’s targeting peaceful immigrants. Almost exclusively.

Keep talking and smiling, Hassett. Real humans who go to the grocery store know the difference between generic and branded goods.
Hassett: "On one of the Sunday shows, the anchor criticized the fact Walmart said the Thanksgiving dinner is cheaper by about $10. Then he said, 'Oh yeah, but they substituted generic stuff,' as if having a generic something is a crime for ordinary folks! It shows how out of touch these people are."

I'm going to say that this is a better cross section than the random population in the US.
NEW data I've received: Just 5% of people detained by ICE since October 1 have had violent criminal convictions, 3/4 had no criminal convictions at all. Most "criminals" had immigration, traffic, and vice offenses. Not the "worst of the worst"...

It really is bizarro world. We have the FBI and the Secretary of Defense, on orders from the President, threatening legal action against US Congress persons for telling our troops that they do not have to obey illegal orders.

And the sheep at Fox News are completely on board with it.

It'll be disastrous.

For Putin, the so-called peace plan is a win-win: A deal would enshrine Ukraine's perpetual subordination and vulnerability. No deal might lead Trump to pull remaining US support for Ukraine and antagonize Europe. @paulsonne.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2025/11/24/w...

Imagine the depth of insecurity it takes for a guy like Hegseth to feel the need to take a swipe at Kelly's hard-earned medals. Every day they tell us who they are, yet so many remain in fear or blinded by base emotions.

To be clear, she is saying that the troops are not qualified to determine if an order is legal and they should just do as they are told.

Well, at least now we have identified the issue and we can discuss whether and how the Republicans propose to change the law here. Constitutional amendment?
BLITZER: I want to be precise. Should members of the US military obey clearly illegal orders?

McCLAIN: You're asking an enlisted person for their opinion on what they think is legal. That's a pretty slippery slope. Follow your commander in chief. That's the oath that you took

The same thing happened on Facebook when they introduced page transparency.

The big question is whether it will change behavior. My prediction is it won't.
