sounds about right from my experience in silicon valley tech startups. you want a pretty precise resolution on the data to sell it as a top commodity -- too precise, and it's hard to sell in the aggregate volumes you need for big valuations

I agree but I don't think the antagonist's whole character changed - the DM probably just made it a very low probability action for him and reconned some kind of weird specific backstory to justify it (the "grandma's recipe" trope)
The trump mamdamni thing proves that we are all NPCs in somebody's first D&D campaign. He went in there with high charisma, rolled a 20 and the inexperienced DM had no option but to change the antagonist's entire character

nintendo and sony are in a better position because they have a ton of hardware and firmware tech to fall back on. western companies tend to be very OS and software-focused and it makes the "purchased IP" issue in games a huge weakness in their fundamentals.
All these "but Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft let you download your old purchases" people forget about already existing failures like OnLive or Stadia.
I'm not expecting the big 3 companies to go under but it could happen and their legacies will just be purely physical games and illegal preservation.

okay so my theory here is that "Zelda" literally sounds more like the correct name for a swashbuckling hero than "Link" because of the grit of the /z/ and the open /da/ syllable at the end vs. the cuter, 'dinkier' sound of "Link." i think the concept of gender has very little to do with it, weirdly.
