In a way this is historical, you can get a feel for what it was like to be in court during the last years of a king slowly going mad from mercury poisoning or syphilis - I imagine those people frequently got invited to an airing of the grievances

Walking around the #NIH hospital and seeing all kinds of patients getting care here: kids in wheelchairs, adults in masks and chemo caps.

I hate making non-cat posts. I hate "discourse". But the number of comments I've seen degrading and dehumanizing sex workers because of that Melania trailer is appalling. That ghoulish woman will never see your "whore" jokes but they absolutely contribute to the stigma that gets sex workers killed.

These papers I'm grading are so interesting, they're making me think about unexplored issues in soil geomorphology. I've never been a "students these days just don't measure up" person, least of all now. Which makes what's happening to universities and funding even more heartbreaking, to be honest.
