My book on party families in Western Europe has been out for a year now so why not do an anniversary thread? 🧵 #polisky

Party Families in Western Europe
This comprehensive and comparative book makes clear what party families are and, in doing so, helps categorise and make sense of parties in different countries. It describes the ideology of the famili...

Croatia thinks Trump should steal territory from Norway, not Denmark
January 14, 2026 at 8:05 AM

Definitely worth going to this! Nice people, nice city, interesting research 😁
We are happy to announce the call for papers for the third WhoGov Mini-Conference on Political Elites!

It will be held on August 20-21st, 2026 in Oslo. We welcome research on political elites broadly understood and not just papers using WhoGov.

You can find the call here: bit.ly/whogovminico...

Very happy to see this out in CPS! We study class identities and their social and political relevance over several decades in Britain, Denmark, Norway, and the US. A small thread:

We think this paper can contribute to ongoing debates about the relevance and political implications of class specifically and social identities more broadly, and how political actors and strategies matter. Hope you enjoy it!

Class identity (controlling for objective factors like education and objective class) still has political implications as well, but weaker than before, and these implications also depend on how political parties behave.
January 8, 2026 at 9:27 AM
Contrary to death-of-class perspectives, class identities are as relevant socially today as they were 50-70 years ago.

Love you!
