Today, local authorities confirmed the victims of the Stockton shooting were just 8, 9, 14, and 21 years old — and that the attack was likely targeted. Our hearts break for their families and the entire Stockton community.

Whenever I read or listen to stories like this, I think every law enforcement agency and court should be run by women. Because crimes against women – especially women of color, but all women – seem predictably to get neglected. And too many perpetrators get the kid glove treatment in court.
