America HATES its children. HATES them. We let them get slaughtered at schools, stores, and birthday parties. We think educating them wastes money that could go to deserving billionaires, instead of being an investment in our future. Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds even refused funds to FEED children. HATES
Today, local authorities confirmed the victims of the Stockton shooting were just 8, 9, 14, and 21 years old — and that the attack was likely targeted. Our hearts break for their families and the entire Stockton community.

There’s a lot to investigate and report on from today’s stunning deposition of Les Wexner. But here’s something I can’t get over.

I asked Mr. Wexner if the DOJ or FBI ever contacted him to ask him about Epstein and his crimes. He said NO. That’s outrageous and unforgivable.

Every unsolicited text from a company or political party, when reported, should result in a $50 payment to each complainant.

Aren’t you tired of businesses and government treating us as profit centers on demand? Their “right” to harass us is protected as if it was in the Bill of Rights.

@tedlieu.bsky.social torches Trump and Todd Blanche over what he’s seen in the Epstein files He tells the media to cover the allegations.

In today’s briefing, the press secretary was apparently not asked a single question about the Epstein files. The billionaire-owned media just want to move on.
Ted Lieu: “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files thousands and thousands of times. In those files, there are highly disturbing allegations of Donald Trump raping children … of Donald Trump threatening to kill children. So I encourage the press to go look at these allegations.”

Holy shit.

A lot of people have suggested this, but I don’t think Lieu would make the allegation unless he had seen some evidence.

There’s no satisfaction in being right if your warnings of imminent danger are ignored and the predicted calamity happens -or keeps happening. Ask James Hansen or Al Gore about climate change, too.

How disheartening, to find that a whole generation doesn’t care about what happens to its children.

As somebody else said, this happens to memorials to Emmett Till with some regularity. Sadly, there are enough assholes out there to make this kind of thing a common occurrence. Wish we had cameras at every memorial, to catch these troglodytes in the act, and publicly shame them.

4 corporations. $315B in profits. Just 4.9% in federal taxes. Tesla paid $0.

With Trump’s billionaire tax cuts Amazon, Alphabet, Meta & Tesla got $51B in cuts in ONE year.

At the original 35% rate, they’d owe ~$110B. Free public college costs ~$75B.

Really good thread on law, discrimination, and awareness by "normies."
My introduction to the law took place when I was a child & discovered my being gay was a crime with a jail sentence [or worse, walled up in the Central Mental Hospital to be experimented on]. As a result, like many minorities, I realised that the law was about oppression & not rights [1]

Join @profgalloway.com's movement. #ResistAndUnsubscribe. It's gaining traction. Grow the momentum.

But this shouldn't make us worry about the US consumer; it should make us wonder if they are, finally, waking up. It should maybe make oligarchs worry about the US consumers becoming citizens again.
Here’s some actual ‘cancel culture’ — the kind that might make you worried about the US consumer.

@unduemeddebt.bsky.social says a $10 donation retires about $1000 in medical debt.

Americans owe > $220B in medical debt.

There are about 1,000 billionaires in the US. If each one donated $2.5M, they'd all remain billionaires, goose the US economy and revive our social contract. Chicken feed.

Excellent idea. Didn't Trump invite Gennifer Flowers or others who had accused Bill C of sexual assault to one of T's debates with Hillary? This would be an indictment of Trump and every complicit member of Congress. They should all wear matching shirts saying "SHAME" or something.
If Democrats attend the State of the Union, they should invite an Epstein survivor as a guest.

If they skip the speech, they should invite an Epstein survivor to sit in their seat.

Newsom is an obsolete style of Dem.

We need a new style of Dem – or someone else, if no Dem is up to the task – for this era of crises. Those who see clearly and lead boldly. We need HUNDREDS of them, not just one. We need to stop fixating on the top of the heap to the exclusion of all else.
Read this sentence slowly:

“Gov. Gavin Newsom, crypto executives and business leaders are ramping up efforts this week to stop the proposed wealth tax...”
