My squirrels live across the street, it’s fortunately a quiet one, but still. I had 2 visiting, then only 1 for a long time. Today’s squirrel was ‘new’ it didn’t knew my patio & explored it, so cute. 🥰

Do the squirrels take them from you? The squirrels come quite close to me, but so far I haven’t tried to feed them directly. It’s totally fine to be ‘nuts’! 🫶😂

Yours sounds like the paradise of seeds and nuts too! I feed shelled sunflower seeds and peanuts to the birds (I don’t want all the shells on my patio floor), the squirrels get the shelled nuts, but of course they eat from the bowl too. I have to try popcorn, too. For winter I have dried mealworms.

They are here every day several times a day. Recently I put out a bit more as I planned to leave for the day. The early squirrel ran & jumped to hide every nut in a row. It looked tired when it was done, so cute. There’s an abandoned nest 🪹 in the trees around and it’s filled with nuts now! 😄

I love mine, too. I had a garden and the squirrels lived in the trees around me. Then I moved and I missed them, so I fed the birds, first just blue tits came with their babies, now it’s very busy here. Since this year the squirrels here visit me too. I love to watch them all & their shenanigans! 🥰

Oh I have the same issues here… they all love peanuts. When I put them in the bowl, the birds ate them & the squirrels had no chance, so now I put out peanuts, walnuts & hazelnuts with the shell so the squirrels have their own food. I don’t want to know how many 🌰-bushes & walnut-🌳 will grow soon… 😅

Today one of the squirrels was eating at the birds bowl when a little blue tit tried to land to eat as well… both were a bit scared first and the bird waited in the tree for the squirrel to finish. Then the squirrel hugged my little Buddha statue, investigated everything else around it, and left.
