The arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are a test for every MSM member with a platform. If you are not voicing your outrage at this blatant violation of the First Amendment, you are utterly discredited as a journalist.

A few weeks back ICE agents ate at a Mexican restaurant and then *detained the restaurant's workers* and they're complaining about how they can't eat out anymore?
Q: Can you be specific about how many ICE and CBP agents are currently operating in the state?

HOMAN: 3,000. There's been some rotations. They've been in theater a long time. Day after day, can't eat in restaurants, people spin on you, blowing whistles at you. But my main focus now is draw down

When the president was calling all Somali immigrants "garbage" who "come from hell" and "contribute nothing" to America and therefore needed to go "back where they came from" did you ask him to "stop the rhetoric," Tom?
Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

Compassion over cruelty. I love this statement from Nydia Cardenas about why she’s running for county commissioner. Texas needs so much more of this.

I feel so much for George Takei. Imagine watching the nightmare trauma of your childhood being played out again on the news. Those poor kids. Their poor families
After being held in two of them as a boy, I fought for decades urging America to never again build concentration camps and put human beings in them. It breaks my heart to watch this happen twice now in my own lifetime.

It's obviously good that citizens with smartphones can create multiple records of these shootings and undercut propaganda and government lies about them. But I find it a little deranging that being an informed news consumer in 2026 requires watching what are essentially snuff videos in slow-mo.

KRISTI NOEM: This individual showed up to impede a law enforcement operation and assaulted our officers. I don't know of any peaceful protester that shows up with a gun and ammunition rather than a sign. This is a violent riot when you have someone showing up with weapons

The last couple of weeks have really affirmed that video can’t work if authorities have decided they’re not bound by anything, least of all reality. Rodney King and Latasha Harlins really schooled me on this a long time ago but my problem is I kept believing people wouldn’t just lie like this.

Emphasizing that ICE is deliberately arresting people who are in the asylum process precisely because they are easy pickings; after all, they're complying with the government!

Amazingly, it's likely legal; but cruel, unjust, and very counterproductive by discouraging compliance!
The parents of a 7 year old, all of whom are in the process of applying for asylum, took their daughter to the ER when her nose wouldn't stop bleeding. ICE picked them up near the hospital and they are now in detention in Texas, presumably awaiting deportation. www.oregonlive.com/portland/202...
