Profile pic is from cover of Sabriel.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the Mini-Mario ability prevents music from changing properly in some cases. This can lead to a variety of unfitting music scenarios such as "Mournful Surfing", whereby Mario will surf joyfully at a sunny beach while tragic music is playing.

In the Nintendo Switch version of Super Mario Galaxy, the ending can now be seen in a higher resolution. This reveals that two Toads that appeared to be running joyfully around a statue before are actually gliding around the statue in T-poses.

@patstaresat.bsky.social Do you think Castlevania is ever gonna escape from indie-crossover purgatory and get a new game?

I'm 95% sure DoorDash's AI has hallucinated that this dish of chicken roasted in clarified butter is vegan, because the restaurant's website says nothing about vegan chicken or ghee substitutes, and I wanna be clear that some people have severe milk allergies and this can literally kill them

I can't trust politicians who are anti-trans. Not because I'm "only searching for perfection" which is what centrists will be accusing me of for the rest of my life, it's because if you're not pro-trans you'll be garbage on lots of other issues too. Being anti-trans NEVER exists in a vacuum.

So, if I'm following all this correctly, a bunch of internet shitposters who spent years screaming "don't tread on me" and warning about federal agents stomping out people's rights... have been hired as ICE agents to go around breaking into people's homes, kidnapping & shooting them

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

In Super Paper Mario, Mr. L is actually much smaller than Mario and Luigi, and gets scaled up at runtime. The game was originally developed for the GameCube before moving to Wii; Mario and Luigi received new Wii graphics while Mr. L was stuck with small GameCube textures.

An official Japanese 1988 guide for Super Mario Bros. 3 contains a small drawing of a Thwomp on the cover that, instead of the usual grimace, has a mischievous, cat-like expression. I have created a high-quality recreation of this Thwomp.

saw someone do the calculation that putting solar panels on every house in the US would cost roughly $1 trillion, which sounded like a lot, but then I saw that the Department of Defense spent $2.21 trillion in 2025, so
We gotta figure out climate change. Not a scientist but my answers are “something with azollas” “something with mushrooms(?)” or “something with algae”. Also they should hand out free apartment solar panels at your post office.

@arlostuff.bsky.social I have a couple questions about Metroid for you:

1. Is isolation an important aspect of Metroid games, and should Metroid games avoid elements that reduce the sense of isolation?

2. Do you think that the types of friendly NPCs present in Prime 4 are a bad fit for Metroid?

@patstaresat.bsky.social I completely bounced off Baldur's Gate 3 and never fully understood the hype.

Would you say that E33 is appealing to people who don't play a lot of RPGs? I'm very interested in the story, but unsure if I will vibe with the gameplay.

@patstaresat.bsky.social Do you think if we pester Nintendo & Retro Studios enough, they might patch in a "skip cutscene" feature to Prime 4?

you gotta remember that from a conservative perspective, these programs are a failure. they don't want to reduce homelessness, they want to punish homeless people. they'd pay 10x as much for that happily
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.
