One of those cars that I would really love to own but have no idea why.
Lancia's 21st century flagship, the Thesis, did not prove much of a sales success over its nine-year life but is remembered for its one-of-a-kind styling. This 2007 German leaflet features a special edition version of the car, called the Thesis Sportiva. #weirdcarbs

Today has been taken up with this Mini that won't illuminate the speedo or indicator/headlamp tell tales. Endless tracing wiring has found no faults other than a blown bulb in the cigarette lighter illumination so far. All connectors with no corrosion, bcm and fusebox look perfect. A real puzzle.

This is like seeing a beautiful, listed but ultimately useless building falling into disrepair. Extremely sad but you wouldn't want to be the one to take it on. And that's coming from someone who's owned one of these amazing, hopeless lumps.

now, even my non-homologation dork amigos might remember the DoA 926R De Tomaso concept - along with the FIA registration here, this is a heck of a What Could Have Been situation

Make sure you always protect those that are most precious to you. Even if those things are an incredibly battered Xsara Picasso.

More Autocar archive. Always liked this 2001 test of all the stuff you could get under £10k. Fairly diverse - city cars, superminis, MPVs, baby hot hatches, quite a spread of manufacturers.

Just went through price lists and lemme tell you, it's difficult to assemble that many cars today...

Anyone else remember when every scrap yard had one of these in this colour sat in it, only a few years after they were brand new? A rare survivor of a car you could drive out of the showroom for £1.

This is very important knowledge. It should be in the driving test.
Cool 605 detail: on the SRDT models, the tyre valve is concealed with a hinged flap on the wheel trim itself.

This little Fiesta, owned since I was 17 and only sold it in 2023 when money got very tight for a short while. It still exists but is now sat in a shed with a blown engine and the interior all dog chewed since it left my hands.

Either this Toyota Corona or Toyota Starlet Carat, both of which I had for mere hours before shifting them on for a profit simply because their air con worked and i bought them both on very hot days.
