Seeing Jurassic Park as a kid was the most epic movie experience of my life and will probably never be beaten. I loved dinosaurs. I had already read the book twice. The news was running stories about whether cloning dinosaurs might even be possible. The hype was unreal and the movie was perfect.

i am a web app maximalist (especially on mobile) we have made browsers into extremely good environments for executing untrusted code so we should just go all in on those

Early video game consoles didn't have "GPUs" like the ones that modern consoles have. They had VDPs (Video Display Processors) which handled putting visuals on a screen, but they weren't parallel processors and so couldn't do 3D graphics well.

I've had my Valve Index for years now but my favorite thing to do in VR is still just flying around in Google Earth. The 360 street view panoramas make me feel like I'm on vacation with a bunch of strangers. It's magic!
